Liberals Now Saying Democracy Is The Problem With America?

Published by at 2:24 pm under All General Discussions,Obamacare

Want to talk about your childish, emotional rants? Check out this stroke of liberal desperation:

It Is Democracy, Not Health-Care Reform, That Is Sick

Given that there is no such thing as a “death panel,” nor any policy provision that would establish such a thing, it is hard to explain the institutional checks that would prevent a “death panel” from coming into being. When you have to explain why your bill won’t create death panels, and what will make sure that it doesn’t, you’ve pretty much lost the argument.

I have long noted the intellectual lightness on the left, especially when it comes to math and other cognitive analysis skills. To put it bluntly they can’t think beyond a 3rd grade level – which is why they continuously fall for simpleton ideas and sound bites.

For the math challenged like poor Ezra here let’s try and boil this down to something he can grasp (no promises here, his ego will probably defend him from facing the fact he has been wrong for so long so badly it will short circuit all sorts of rational though processes).

Look, there is only so much money. If government decides without regress or private options what is allowed and who is allowed to get it (as they do now in the UK) then we will have panels who decide these restraints. Hint: no one will call them a ‘death panel’, it was a derisive label to invoke the essence of health care rationing.

If you went looking for “Death Panels” in the legislative language you are truly one of the biggest idiots I have ever run across in my entire life. Get a clue, dude.

It must be nice to be so morally and intellectually superior to the hoi polloi that there opinions or ideas no longer matter. They become peons you simply manipulate and subject to conditions you would never subject yourself.

If you read through to the end, he correctly points out that the core problem is a matter of Trust, but then very foolishly claims that there is no rational reason in the world to not completely trust the Federal Government.

Astounding – apparently he really believes that.

So if all insurance companies must cover a prescribed set of mandates (by a board in the White House), how is it that Congress is not going to be covered just like the rest of us, with the exact same rules? It sounds that all plans private and public will be exactly the same. Is that true?

That’s why the progressives/commies are sending their opponents to the reeducation camp or gulags.
If you remember, Bill Ayers mused about sending 25 millions to death camp, as their bolsheviks buddies did in Russia at the beginning of the century and Eastern Europe after 1945.

Weren’t these the same people who, a mere 12 months ago were urinating in their pants about Bush (and the federal government) wanting to illegally wiretap their phones looking for…terrorists? Where was the “trust” then?

In fact, what if, during the Bush years, the president and congress had:

    * set up a snitch website
    * told protesters that they were Nazi’s and “un-American”
    * took over two major car manufacturers and forced the CEO of one to resign
    * forced higher energy taxes through a “cap and trade” scam ostensibly to keep Florida from disappearing from the melting polar ice caps
    * put our country *** trillions *** of dollars in debt
    * presided over an economy with 9.5% unemployment

I could go on…do think the MSM would have been as understanding as they apparently are now…

The MSM has NO credibility left…NONE!

    Kathie,

Not sure you aimed that question at me, but here is my cut.

Congress can mandate a minimum package (not a price) which must be offered to all. In fact it could define a suite of minimums that range from catastrophic only (which have lowest premiums) to preventive care only (medium premiums) to a combination (highest).

But that would not be the only option(s) that could be offered. From these basic plans all sorts of add ons and options could be offered for those who can afford higher premiums or want more coverage.

The Feds would subsidize the poorest in terms of paying for their access to the low end standard policies. The richest would be barred from medicare/medicaid (leave that for the needy).

It could work. Under the liberals plan – only one plan for all.

Don’t trust the government? yeah right, during Bush’s term in office we had to hear all sorts of insane and paranoid conspiracy theories and yet somehow or other the Democrats had no problem keeping those fears alive, even using them to gain power.

Now they want to be trusted.

Thanks AJ. If the rich are barred from Medicare, who is going to insure them? I guess that will be another mandate?

I have to reprint this, it goes to Democracy (in a constitutional way).

With public opinion turning away from the health care reform effort, President obama’s political allies have become increasingly frustrated. In many cases speeches made by Democratic lawmakers have been picketed by what have been referred to as “angry mobs.”

To help counter these demonstrations, some in favor of health care reform have agreed to media interviews to explain their position. Often these forays into the public sphere have been lambasted by conservative radio hosts and outlets such as FOX News.

Tensions have been rising steadily over the last month, with some in the President’s own party shying away from the “public option” bill. Congressional leaders have also expressed their anger over the increased protests.

“These extremists are getting in the way of creating a cheaper and more accessible option for millions of disadvantaged Americans.” said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD). “If these continue, public discourse will devolve into a pool of rage and fistfights.”

To make matters more contentious, White House officials have acknowledged that it asked prominent unions to “police” some protests. Unofficial reports have also noted that up to $100,000 in federal funds were paid to the AFL-CIO to attend three Missouri town halls in July.

In addition, with tempers flaring and the potential for violence increasing, the White House and its political allies have struck a different tone. Vice President Biden told a reporter to the NY Reporter that if protests continued and the reform bill was stalled, some of the protestors would “face consequences.” When asked to clarify, Biden stated:

“These people come to these meetings and start fistfights and yell down their elected officials. You can’t do that and still consider yourself a patriot. You can’t go around with swatstikas spreading hate. If you do these things after you’re told to calm down, you’re going to get arrested.”

Some attending local protests have noticed increased police activity, includng officers from federal agencies. Whether these occurances have anything to do with the Vice President’s comments are unknown.

Our government has done what. I guess more stimulus money at work.
