Limp Reps Throwing Away 1700 Lives

Published by at 9:00 am under All General Discussions

America sent our military men and women into Iraq to change the world and stem the tied of Islamic fascism. To date this valient effort has cost 1700 lives and numerous damaged lives and bodies. Now some weak-kneed republicans want to throw all this sacrifice away. They are the ones we should toss aside.

Right Wing Nut House posted earlier on this despicable turn of events. And I feel anyone who who believs the sacrifice made by our men and women should never be reduced to waste needs to speak out now. This started when one congressman decided to raise the flag of surrender in Iraq by demanding a time table for our retreat:

A Republican congressman called for a deadline to pull U.S. troops from Iraq, while some other members of President Bush’s party urged on Sunday that his administration come to grips with a persistent insurgency and revamp Iraq policy.

Rep. Walter Jones (news, bio, voting record), a North Carolina conservative, said on ABC’s “This Week” that he would offer legislation this week setting a timetable for the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.

This is just plain idiotic. The men and women we sent to Iraq went with the understanding they were going to risk their lives to change the world to a better place. A place where democracy replaces tyranny and chases evil back into the darkness. They had a GOAL. The only way to lose this is to run when the going (or in this case the polls) get tough. Lindsay Graham skated around the same issue, claiming that the will of the people is faltering:

Graham said the Army is contending with a serious shortfall in recruiting “because this war is going sour in terms of word of mouth from parents and grandparents.” He said “if we don’t adjust, public opinion is going to keep slipping away.”

Well, when our national leaders show doubt it HAS slipped away. Our men and women died and were wounded to get us to a place certain. And these media phobic ‘leaders’ are ready to tell all those who have and are risking their lives it was for nothing.

The time to pull out our troops is when their sacrifices have been honored by reaching the goals they died for. Not by some timetable based on some BS poll which is inaccurately reported to say people think we should cut and run.

According to a new Gallup Poll, nearly six in 10 Americans say the United States should withdraw some or all of its troops from Iraq, up from 49 percent who held that view in February, USA Today reported in its Monday edition.

How many want to run (withdraw all troops) and how many want (or hope) we could draw down our troop some? They do not say. How many who want to draw down the troops would change their mind it they understood it would risk all we have fought and died for? They do not say.

And what kind of signal does this send our enemies? All they need to do is know what date to wait for before they go in and undo everything. And they are listening to these surrender monkeys.

This quote from Rick Moran and Right Wing Nut House is spot on:

And I would say to Republican Congressmen “Deal with it.”

As we all get further and further away from Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Omaha beach, our definition of “determination” has become just a little watered down.

This guy (a “conservative”?) is playing with my life, my wife’s life, and most importantly the life of my six year old. How pathetic and outrageous.

If he were my rep I couldn’t kick him to the curb fast enough.

Yeah, talk about energizing the enemy. All they’ll think is necessary now is to double the killings of innocents.
