If the conservative movement wants to take on a case of government over reach – this is the one:
Authorities have determined there is no emergency need for a 13-year-old girl to be on medication, after the girl’s mother was accused of medically neglecting her by not giving her a psychotropic drug.
The girl has been in state custody since Child Protective Services workers showed up to take her, prompting an hours-long standoff between her mother and police.

Mia Wenk, a CPS worker, testified earlier this month that she filed a petition containing multiple allegations of neglect, along with the order to take the child into protective custody, two weeks after she became involved in the case March 10.
Emphasis mine. This busy-body case worker was on this case 2 weeks (plus many others) and decides she needs to take the kid from the mother? The one who should be on trial is the ego-maniacal bureaucrat playing God – not the mother trying to keep the government from drugging her daughter. Want one of those rallying points that clearly mark the differences between the two sides AND helps an American family retain their rights? This is it folks.
Obama’s numbers start their slide in Gallup – no surprise there. Only question is where is the next plateau on the down spiral? Right now he is at 50% disapprove and 42% approve among adults.

Did you know that when you save your personal electronic data (records, pictures, stories, email, etc) outside your residence it is no longer protected by the constitution and open to government trolling?
Did you know that there are no laws to prevent government agencies from raiding your computer’s remotely hosted back up files, your third party emails, your cloud computing files, or your cell phone GPS location records? Well, there aren’t. As the law stands today government can go into your private computer files or trace your cell phone location without a warrant.
And to think you pay good money for this invasion of your privacy.

The president is immersed in another stressed and unsuccessful spring after a series of losing seasons. Internationally, he’s involved in a confused effort that involves bombing Libyan government troops and sometimes their rebel opponents, leaving the latter scattered and scurrying. Responsibility to protect is looking like tendency to deflect. Domestically, the president’s opponents seized the high ground on the great issue of the day, spending and debt, and held it after the president’s speech this week. In last week’s budget duel, the president was outgunned by Republicans in the House and outclassed by Paul Ryan, who offered seriousness and substance as a unique approach to solving our fiscal problems.
In this week’s polls: An Ipsos survey says 69% of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track, up five points since March. Zogby has only 38% of national respondents saying Mr. Obama deserves re-election, with 55% wanting someone new. Mr. Obama carried Pennsylvania in 2008 by double digits; a poll there this week shows only 42% approving his leadership, with 52% disapproving. Gallup had the president’s support slipping among blacks and Hispanics, with the latter’s numbers dramatic: 73% supported him when he was inaugurated, 54% do now. Support among whites on Inauguration Day was 60%. Now it is 39%.
The one term wonder still amazes.
RE: Trump, with all due respect, AJ, they said the same thing about Reagan. I am not saying Trump is Reagan, but he has a quality that the “soggy cucumber sandwich” republicans do not have: money, power and most importantly, he is not a politician. He will force obama to play on his field which is not a political field. It is a brutal cut-throat field.
He just may be exactly the man we need right now. And sadly, all the negative press being put up about him by conservatives/independents will be used by the Left.
Trump is fun and somewhat interesting. Personally I think it is fun to talk about why Obama is so secretive about his past and I do wonder why he has spent $2 million covering it up. But a man with a thoughtful policy for the people of the United States of America, he aint. Please, he is no Reagan who had thought about governance for the people, Trump thinks in sound bites and his thoughts are all over the place. Thoughts are not policies, and sound bites are words.
Government can also collect every single one of your emails over six months old from a server such as gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. simply for the asking. No warrant or other court document is required.
This is a very only rule dating to the 1990’s before people were reading their email with web browsers. Back then people used things like pop3 to pull their email from servers. An email older than six months was considered “abandoned” and the government could get a copy of it simply for the asking.
Nowadays these services brag about the amount of email storage you have. People routinely keep emails on these servers “in the cloud” for longer than six months.
The Department of Justice can simply demand that these providers send a copy of all of your mail older than six months old without any legal justification at all.
Considering how politicized Obama’s Department of Justice is, it would not surprise me if it is now acting as the intelligence arm of the DNC.
If I were a political opponent of the Democrats at any level, I would not have any email on those services older than six months.
Kathie: I’m not a big fan of Trump but, with all due respect, what you just said about him fits “The One” perfectly (except fot the interesting part).

AJ, I love Trump and think he would make a fantastic president. I think you should take another look at him. He is as powerful as soros, et al and THAT is VERY important in today’s IMPERFECT world. We are running against GLOBAL SOCIALISTS not barack obama.

crosspatch. If what you said is true, and I’ll assume that it is, then if each of the email services charged you rental for the storage space you consume, that would become your property and then a warrant would have to be issued.
kinda like ‘renting a house’ that becomes your abode and is ‘private property’. Just because you’ve been renting a house for more than six months doesn’t mean that you’ve ‘abandoned’ it. I’m not a lawyer, but I’m pretty sure that as long as you’re paying rent on a space, it is yours and the contents would not be subject to seizure without a warrant and probable cause.

Trump is wildcard for me. I think he could be very good on some business and economic issues. And, although he is strong on making decisions, he also seems too quick to make decisions (before he has all the facts). I find Trump erratic (and it makes it hard to trust him). I think he is open and honest in what he says…..but, I just don’t know where his decisions would take us (that’s what I mean when I say I don’t trust him on the issues). I don’t like the current slate of candidates much. My dream ticket would be Ryan/Rubio — and, I think the second tier slate of Republican leaders are more ideal than last year’s retreads or establishment Repubs. That being said, I really like Trump as a person. There is no front-runner in my own mind and I won’t be making any decisions until I see how the debates and other issues play out. However, I will also have to admit….I haven’t totally ruled Trump out yet.

Paul….Trump knows lots of people and he is a business man. That’s good. But what is his overarching philosophy? He says he can teach the Chinese a lesson, they steal our stuff. Teaching lessons needs to be incontext with a big picture. A President needs to start with the big picture of governance and then talk about the parts. You start from the whole the then add the parts. Both Trump and Obama talk about the parts, sound bites and they never get to the overarching whole. That’s why you don’t know where they are going next. I don’t think they have much in common, Trump and Obama……but I also don’t know what there big picture thoughts are.
I think Trump will reveal himself more and more, especially after he announces. He knows how to market and work the media. He has this well thought out, imho, from what I have seen so far. He is building momentum masterfully, imho.
From observing politics the past 12 years it is sad to say that the NEA has dumbed down and frankly outright propagandized our youth (some who are now 30-40 something’s and starting to care about voting) that they are hard to reach with anyone other than a person like Trump, imho.
Trump is saying a lot of interesting and useful things.
Trump has also lied to and cheated every business party who’s ever trusted him.
While I may enjoy watching him give Obama fits, I would never, ever, ever trust him in any position. The instant he decides there’s a profit to be made in flipping from right to left, he’ll do it without a moment’s hesitation. (Remember when Arianne Huffington did the same thing?)
A quote from Winston Churchill seems very appropriate to Trump, and especially the fact that he’s willing to say all the things that the more “respectable” republicans won’t say:

While some people don’t respect article 2 of the constitution, I still do. If a Republican tries to defy the requirement, I’m sure the Lamestream Media will point it out.
Sorry, Redteam, but you’ve been misinformed. The view that Jindal is not a natural born citizen is wrong. He was born in Baton Rouge, which means he is automatically a natural born citizen under US Law. Whether or not everyone likes birthright citizenship, it IS the law and will remain so until it is changed.
Same thing applies to Rubio, who was born in Miami. The only hope the birthers have regarding Obama’s citizenship is that somehow he was not born in Hawaii. If he WAS born in Hawaii, then he is a natural born citizen. End of Story. Remember, these claims come from the crowd that says that even John McCain wasn’t a true citizen, and this is why the “birthers” have earned themselves such a bad name: they don’t just stick to Obama, they go on and one with weird legal theories that have absolutely no basis in Law or Reality.
It’s lunacy, and it doesn’t help conservatives at all to launch off into crackpot citizenship ideas that every legal scholar in this country considers to be on par with UFOlogy.
Specific legal flaws in the theory: Most supporting this view point to the Minor vs Happersett decision of 1874 as their legal basis; but Minor vs. Happersett was superseded in 1898 by Wong Kim Ark. Wong Kim Ark has stood as the defining law on this matter for 113 years now, and it established the precedent that if a child is born on US soil, under the 14th amendment the citizenship of his parents do not matter. (with a couple of very minor, very specific exceptions that almost never apply)
A lot of people may not like that, but It Is Law. It will not change unless there is a new Supreme Court interpretation (impossible) or a Constitutional Amendment. (very unlikely)
Congress has not the power to change it according to City of Boerne vs Flores, 1997.
as far as Minor vs. Happersett – look up Plessy v Ferguson, or Dred Scott. There are very, very many old SCOTUS decisions that have been overturned by later courts and which no longer have any legal relevance. Happersett is one of them.
One other thing – some will say that Wong Kim Ark didn’t override Happersett because it made a ruling on citizenship but didn’t use the magic words “Natural Born”. This view is nonsense. Since 1898, *Every* Court at every level has agreed that citizen from birth is the same thing as “natural born citizen.”
This is not just a theory; this is current Law, upheld by every Court in the nation.
And remember, the Supreme Court is not final because it is always right; the Supreme Court is Always Right because it is Final.

Thought Trump said Obama was born in Hawaii but that he wanted Obama to show us his LONG birth certificate, which is what everyone wanted even if half of them is wrong, right?

Anyway, Obama reneged on his compromise with John Boehner on the FY2011 CR but that’s now over with. The credit goes to John Boehner for finishing up the job Pelosi and Reid failed to do. The credit goes to John Boehner for starting with the 61B cut and agreeing to a 38.5 B cut that he thought he couldn’t get.
He knows that even a 61B cut won’t do anything and he make sure we knew it up front.
