Obamacare Wipes Out Existing Health Care Plans
In case anyone does not understand the real implications of Obamacare, the fact is it is so confusing, so convoluted and backed by federal threats of laws suits, fine, etc that most businesses – especially small businesses – will drop their coverage and dump everyone on the government dole. Therefore this study is way too optimistic, ywt it is bad enough:
About one in 10 employers plans to end workers’ health insurance as the new healthcare law takes effect, according to a new study.
The finding could bolster opponents of the law, who argue that its changes to the healthcare system will force workers out of insurance plans they like. Supporters of the law say most people will keep their current coverage.
Surveying 560 U.S. companies, consulting firm Deloitte found that 9 percent of employers are planning to drop employee health benefits within three years. Eighty-one percent said they would continue covering employees, and 10 percent said they were not sure.
If you like your current health care, you need to vote President Obama into retirement this fall.
If you are dropped by your job, can’t you buy your health insurance from any company? You don’t have to go on exchanges, right?
Katie: You are correct but individuals don’t have the buying power to get the best rates. So you can shop around and buy a plan you can afford (probably a high deductible plan) or you can try to get coverage through your professional group, AAA, the AARP, etc. But no one will have the numbers and buying power of the exchanges.
The fear is that eventually the exchanges will have the most people and then the government can start rationing care in order to control cost. Its a slower process than moving directly to a single payer system but the result will be the same.
I’ve mentioned this before, but; if all insurance companies register with the exchanges and they want to get your business, won’t they attempt to provide lower costs to get the sale? Wouldn’t it help if you could buy a policy from anywhere in the country instead of just from your own state? And also, if a company can sell insurance outside the exchange, as well as inside, wouldn’t that help competition? The key is that several companies are available to buy from, not just one.
Why are no pundits asking about the waivers that were issued and why the companies requested them?
Dave, because the ‘pundits’ are liberals and they don’t want to say anything derogatory to the socialists.
ObamaCare is working as designed – a gradual degradation of current health care in to the National Health Service.
8 5% rule = no money to sell your health plan
Health Czar sets policy requirements = you have any choice of color as long as it it black. OBTW the plan is not a minimum coverage plan. It is THE plan. Only one. It covers every politically desirable objective – I mean feature.
Health Czar determines who can:
* Supply services
* Which services they must supply
* How much they can charge
He but he cannot keep physicians from retiring, so the result will be a shortage of physicians. The reaction will be certifying physicians that couldn’t make it as auto mechanics. Did you ever see a stupid movie called “Idioacracy”? Watch it. It’s funny and a perfect projection of Obama-Land.
A board of health experts to determine what service you are allowed to have based on you age and “national statistics”.
The gradual result of ObamaCare is the National Health Service with long queues, cruddy service, denied treatments, and death holding pens.
A Utopian solution to life little problem of whether you live of die.
I use a Naturopathic Doctor (NMD) as my primary physician and love it. He is “outside the system” only taking cash. He’ll give you all the paperwork so you can submit to your insurance for out of network coverage but he gets to practice medicine the way he sees fit. He told me his biggest fear is that he and his like minded colleagues will be coerced into joining “the system” to make up for the shortfall of doctors. How would that happen? Easy!
Herr Doctor! You want you medical license renewed? Well join the Government health system or we deny you the right to practice medicine.
What state do you live in, Layman?
Hi Jan: Last year I moved back home to the home of SB 1070, Arizona.
