Saddam Had WMD Know-How

Published by at 7:00 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

Liberals must be just plain naive. They never understood the risk posed by Saddam. It was never a stockpile of weapons that would be the big threat. It was the know-how to build weapons. The old saying about “give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime” applies to more than just fish. Saddam would NEVER want anything traced back to him for the next 9-11. So the threat was he would teach Al Qaeda how to build their own WMDs and let them do their thing. Cheney and Bush understood this. Liberals in the media and elsewhere are incapable of grasping these simple facts of life.

This post is just naive, knowing how to build them isn’t the problem, the ‘know how” on building just about any WMD you can think of is readily available to anyone that wants it, the only thing keeping them from being built everywhere is the fact that they can’t get the materials needed.

If we attacked everyone with the “know how” we’d be fighting every third world country with a grudge against us on the planet, though with Bush/Cheney in charge that is a definite possibilty.

    sdmoderate,

Sorry – but you have no idea what you are talking about. You can grow anthrax. Making a weaponized form that can be dispersed is very difficult. Neurotoxins and other chemical weapons are the easiest, but not trivial. Anthrax is everywhere as is botulism. Chemicals are definitely everywhere. Yellowcake uranium is the toughest to acquire, but if you have the centrifuge technology it is simple to transform into weapons grade. The challenge on all nuclear devices are the triggers. Very tough science there.

No – for biological and chemical weapons the materials are easy. Remember Oklahoma City? It was fertilizer.

Nevertheless Cheney and others pressured CIA to write and rewrite reports to fit a predetermiend agenda,as Ray McGovern and Paul Pillar have attested. Put together the cherrypicked intelligence and the presentation by Bush to the public as if intelligence was one-sided,as in favor of WMD presence, etc…and you have indictable crimes, nationally and under international law.

Lordy, lordy, is this all that will be presented by Conyers?

  5. Facing Down A Despot?…

In fact, Clinton did nothing to combat terrorism except fire a few missiles into an empty tent. He went into Somalia and then decided that wasn’t a good idea when a some soldiers got killed…so he ran. Showing to Osama’s the world ov…

    Ken:

That is absurd, I don’t know what you were drinking for last 15 years but I can remember Clinton talking about the danger of outlaw states with weapons and weapons technology and he used Saddam as a prime example of that. There is no credible evidence that Cheney cooked anything and if people were not so silly and short sighted about this and completely devoid of a long term memory they might actually recall the former president of the US telling the nation that not only did Saddam have these weapons he would use them. He said that in 1998 when he ordered more bombing in Iraq.

And you know what? The government got all kinds of information about Saddam. Putin told Bush that Saddam was planning attacks in the US, some people said Saddam had no nuclear program and other intel people said he was within a year of the bomb. So they had to try to and make sense of it all.

But given the past decade, the fact that hardly a week went by that US planes were not shot at…the idea that Cheney had to build a case against Saddam is absurd. The case was already built.

On sdmoderate’s post — wow. I doubt anyone else is that amazingly ignorant, so it does not need a response.

There are additional dangers to this scenario. One nuclear bomb is dangerous to us in the hands of a country who is willing to give it to terrorists.

Why is it the Left is still denying this is a problem — regardless of how they present it, such as how sd “moderate” presented it?

It is true… Iran, Syria, and North Korea are also threats to us. Of those, Iraq was nearly the easiest to take down and provides the best strategic reward for troop placement, amongst other factors.

Sadly, regardless… there will be mass terrorism, and all of this “it can’t happen” nonsense from the Left will have hell to pay.

A certain “nevertheless” poster here has absolutely no idea what they are talking about….just dnc talking points. And we all know about the “gravitas” of those…

AJ is right, you do not know what you are talking about. My former father in law had a degree in chemical engineering and he was assigned to the chemical war fare unit for years. He later went into the private sector, but messing with those chemicals is very dangerous and not just any yahoo can do it.

    On Ken’s post —

Wow, yet another looney looking to indict Bush. It is amazing how these guys want to kill Bush. For them it is “Bush, Bush, Bush”. They are sickly obsessed. I don’t know why they think this way… except that it appeals to their herd mentality, jingoistic type of thinking.

As far as Bush deceiving the public, we all know that is a lie.

As far as Iraq not really being any kind of threat… how sad. Even beyond Iraq being a threat to us… how is it not that Iraq kicked out the UN Inspectors? I remember in the early days of these things my Leftist “friends” would deny that Iraq kicked out the inspectors. There were websites devoted to this “fact”. But, they did, we all know they did, and now we all know why they did.

Say what one wants about UN resolutions, Saddam Hussein had used WMD on people in the past. Blame that – somehow – on the US, it doesn’t matter. He hated us and he is a type of person capable of killing masses of people through WMD. Of course he was a threat.

Of course, even Clinton, Gore, and Kerry are taped calling Iraq a serious threat.

They just didn’t do anything about it.

As far as us being “aggressive”? These people are lying dogs. We are protecting our national interest. I only wish that Clinton and his crew had not messed up the UN’s plans to finally go into Rwanda. I wish we would go into Sudan. Sooner or later we may have to go into North Korea, Syria, and Iran… and these same people will be there then. Yelling, “No, let us die, not them>’

It will probably be too late, by then, however.

Because we have so many people who are showing they will do whatever the terrorists – whatever terrorist – asks of them… the message to all terrorists and would be terrorists in the world is, “TERRORISM WORKS WITH AMERICA”.

As far as I am concerned these people can all move to the “happy” country of Vietnam, which they and their political mentors helped create through their wicked support of aggressive monsters — the Viet Cong and Khmer Rouge.

Today they would not been full of such evil had we, as a country, ever faced the horror our “peace” movement brought to Southeast Asia.

  11. pull says:

Oh, on the “know how” of creating WMD… why did it take Pakistan some 18 years to create a nuclear bomb if the know how is so trivial but it is just the supplies which are hard to get?

If it was that the supplies were so hard to get, why was AQ Khan then celebrated as the “Father of the Islamic Bomb”?

Sadly, the Left is not educated on such issues (nor on the history of how other countries, such as Israel got the bomb — by stealing “know how”, not the supplies).

I do not think they can learn, either, because they are so incredibly conceited. You can never learn something if you already think you know everything. Besides, these morons spend all of the days getting their facts from sites like the Daily Kos and conspiracy theorist sites. And Hollywood.

Truth is hard, but here it is: Muslims hate us. They have ever since they started. It is ingrained into their religion. The only reason we have to deal with them again is because of oil. (No, not Israel, no not because of other conspiracy theories- lies.)

America is the penultimate “Western” nation, the ultimate “Christian” nation, the ultimate “Abel” to the Islamic “Cain”. They hate us very deeply. No surprise.

We will have to attack more countries. We will not survive unless we do so. We will not attack Costa Rica or Britain or Japan or the many countries that are not full of crazy fanatics who cry everyday about how they want to kill us.

This has nothing to do with us. They will not leave their death wishes alone. They will not work, instead of dreaming about world conquest and our murder. They will not work their fields, as honest men should. They will not participate in the sciences nor the arts nor atheletics. They are dead set on destroying us.

Hard facts to accept for cowards or people who want our country destroyed anyway.

  12. Terrye says:

The truth is if folks like Kennedy had let Bush1 go into Iraq years ago and take out Saddam, there would have no Shia uprising with hundreds of thousands of people killed, no food for oil program, no hide and seek with the weapons, the country’s infrastructure would not be so damaged, no base in Saudi Arabia so that we could fly the no fly zones, there would have been no Zarqawi in Iraq, no payments to suicide bombers.

Terrorists like Abu Nidal, Abu Abbas, Carlos the Jackal who always knew they could come to Iraq would have been forced to go somewhere else and the list goes on and on.
