Here is that excellent Micheal Steele ad I mentioned in an earlier post. Don’t you wish all ads were like this? I would call this the political ad of the entire 2006 election.

    It’s a stunt puppy! They hiered it because his actual puppy has a swastika tatoo, and a nose ring.

    Can’t post on the Allen thread. I think what’s happening is an outrage and I wish he’d just say these are ridiculous third hand accounts of something reputed to have happened decades ago which I deny. I have to think they represent a concerted effort to keep voters from focusing on the issues and I will not let that happen. And then refuse to discuss it again as an outrageous effort to distract from his campaign by absurd slanders.

    “FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Democratic Senate challenger Jim Webb declined to say definitively Tuesday whether he had ever used a common derogatory term to describe blacks, stepping carefully after watching his campaign rival confront charges of racism.

    “I don’t think that there’s anyone who grew up around the South that hasn’t had the word pass through their lips at one time or another in their life,” Webb told reporters.

    Webb referred to his novel, “Fields of Fire,” which aides said includes occurrences of the n-word as part of character dialogue. But he added: “I have never issued a racial or ethnic slur.”

    Asked for clarification of his original answer, spokeswoman Jessica Smith quoted Webb as saying, “I have never used that word in my general vocabulary or in any derogatory way.”

    She declined to say whether he had ever used the word apart from when he wrote his book.

    Webb fielded questions on the issue after two days of racially charged controversy surrounding Sen. George Allen (news, bio, voting record), a first-term Republican seeking re-election in what has become an unexpectedly close race.”

    I can’t get into the Allen post either. You are so right clarice. I have been thinking the same thing. It is only going to get worst. When are Repugs ever going to learn?

    He would be better off to come out ONE time and say ‘This is bunk and didn’t happen. I am through answering all these trashy personal attacks over nothing. Now all you Democratic MSM do your worst. You seem determined to label me a racist, I’m not … so it does not help me to keep answering you. Your mind is made up.”

    He can’t beat them so he should spit into their eye.

    I hope Allen comes back agressively, as Clarice recommends. This is yet another shameful, orchestrated smear campaign by the left, this time led by WaPo. No matter how Allen responds, you know WaPo will try to keep it alive as long & negative as possible. A firm, quick retort should mitigate the damage.
