Craven, Desperate, Democrats

America is sorely lacking a top notch, serious opposition party. The Democrats have sunken to joke status this election cycle. They have offered nothing in terms of a ‘new direction’ for Americans to assess and see whether their proposals are any better than those we are currently following. They have spent all their energy opposing every single anti-terrorism effort because they have become emotionally unhinge over George W Bush and his successes (and he has had more than most Presidents). Their hate of Bush has overcome any remaining common sense as they have fought against the Patriot Act, exposed the NSA Terrorist Surveillance Program and SWIFT financial monitoring program (crippling both) and fought for Terrorists’ Rights in opposing legislation on serious interrogation and bringing the 9-11 masterminds to trial. Only someone in the final stages of BDS would argue for the Americans to transfer our rights and privileges to people who attacked and killed 3,000 people. Rights and privilieges we never provided the Nazis, the Communists or other enemies who came to destroy us.

Now the Democrats see opportunities in the sexual exploitation of a child in this piece, which causes me to envision nothing more than vultures preying on the hardship of others:

In their efforts to keep their party in power, Republican leaders have not hesitated to hit the Democrats hard when it comes to the issue of protecting children.

The strategy was on display in Indiana, where the National Republican Congressional Committee recently ran a series of television spots showing a man accused of child molesting who was inadvertently released under the watch of Brad Ellsworth, a county sheriff and a Democratic candidate for Congress.

Now, Democrats are suddenly seeing an opportunity to turn the tables, questioning the actions of Representative Thomas M. Reynolds of New York, the chairman of the Congressional committee, and other top Republicans who have acknowledged that they had been aware for months of e-mail exchanges between Representative Mark Foley, a Florida Republican, and a former teenage page..

Democrats (and obviously their liberal enablers in the news media) must have some screws loose to think this up. There is a huge difference between being soft on criminals and missing the criminal acts being done by a coworker. There was a crime against a childe here. A man who headed the caucus which is out to protect children from exploitation clearly used his insight into how law enforcement detects child abusers to cover his tracks. It is clear that the Republican leadership did not detect the warning signs early on, but after I thought about the daily barrage of lies and falsehoods levied at our leaders by emotionally immature partisans, I realized I was being unfair to blame them for sifting through all the muck and seeing the problem. But the Democrats are trying to paint all Republicans with some broad brush because they are devoid of character and substance. And so the Democrats, too, are exploiting the tragedy of this for themselves.

We need leaders. With the Dems we get childish finger pointing. We need new ideas to our challenges. With the Dems we get more challenges as they work against our common good and ignorantly help the terrorists out to kill us. We need people to bring honor and respect to our nation, but we get politicians who are more interested in their interns and pages than representing “We The People”. These baseless and wild accusations constantly coming out of the Democrats shows their complete hollowness. They are bereft of ideas and their is a void in their sense of America and its inherent good. We know Republicans love their children and want to protect all children. This one sick person in their midst is not their image of how things should be.

Their is nothing I can find credible or laudable about the Democrats anymore. And this does pain me since my family has deep political roots in the Democrat Party. My grandfather – a good, respected man – was the image of the Democrat party. Not just to me, but to all those like him who flocked to the party to do good and protect this great country. Now the party is a bunch of angry, anti-American, smear mongering people with nothing – absolutely nothing – to offer America except an ugly reputation if they were to become our representatives. The Democrat party is gone.

Update: Interestingly, I am not the only one who finds the Democrats totally devoid of substance. Here is a WaPo regular, Sebastian Mallaby, opining about the lack of something postive in the dems to support (while doing the same equation of one man’s sickness becoming a party’s label – what a mental simpleton!):

After years of single-party government, the prospect of a Democratic majority in the House ought to feel refreshing. But even with Republicans collapsing in a pile of sexual sleaze, I just can’t get excited. Most Democrats in Congress seem bereft of ideas or the courage to stand up for them. They clearly want power, but they have no principles to guide their use of it.

So what is worse? A party that missed the warning signs a member was acting criminally or power in unprincipled and rage filled hands?

Asked and answered, AJ. I had a conversation with a friend over the weekend about Congressman Foley. He said this only hurts Republicans on November 7th if it can be irrefutably shown that the GOP House leadership had known all the details for a long time and did nothing. I told him I thought he was naive, and that the Dems were going to say that was the case whether it was true or not. In politics, afterall, perception is reality, and there is not group in this country that is better than “creating” perception than the Donkeys.

Except Bush’s neocons in creating the perception that Osama and Saddam were working together on 9/11, which the vast majority of US troops in the failed Iraq War (see Barone above for a hoot of a quote on Iraq) believe is their reason for being there.

I think there is still a lot that is not known about 9-11. I read that they still don’t know who paid for 9-11.

Saddam financed a lot of terrorism.

I read in the news that government investigators believe that there are more 9-11 plotters and that some may be in the US.

Just hypothetically, if there were evidence that the 9-11 paymasters were American citizens who were agents of Iraq, the government might not want to tip its hand by explaining why it suspects Iraqi involvement in 9-11.

I am only making a hypothesis, but they still don’t know where the money came from for 9-11.

Saddam was the Daddy Warbucks of terrorism. He paid the Palestinian suicide bombers’ families when they killed Israelis.

Saddam had a lot of people on his payroll. He also trained 1000s of terrorists in his country.

Wrong, Snapple. Israel bulldozed family homes of freedom
fighters/terrorists, call them what you will. Group punishment of a kind America forbids, and showing Israel is not a democracy.

    Saddam reimbursed the families.

Iran, however has financed miltants in much greater volume.
Iran’s power has grown substantially as a result of Bush’s
    blunder.

As for the other conspiracy theory, does Strata encourage 9/11
conspiracy kooks to contribute to his site, too?
