Where’s The Anti Iraq, Incumbent Wave?
If America is ready to leave Iraq, why is one of the biggest proponents of staying and finishing the job expanding his lead in heavily Democrat New England? If America is ready to oust conservative incumbents, why is Joe Lieberman pulling away from Ned Lamont? If Reps and Cons are so depressed they are going to stay home, and the angry far left is so motivated (and large), then someone explain to me what is going on in CT? In fact, all the Republican House members from CT seem to be doing just fine as well – despite all the headlines about the pending Blue Wave. (Shays, Simmons and Johnson) What gives? How could heavily Independent and Democrat CT not show this Blue Wave in spades? If Dems and Indies are fed up with pro-Iraq incumbents, they sure have a strange way of showing it.
And why are so few donating to Lamemonts campaign? Few are speaking with their wallet. A large portion of the donations to his election are from him or organizations closely tied to him or his wife.
Well….living in CT I see Unready Neddy’s ads every day. He is still advertising to the Dem base that he already won. He kind of forgot about the rest of the voters. In the debate this week, Lamont’s staff tried to give Schlesinger a boost so that he would take votes from Lieberman. Little good that will do them. Neddy truly is Unready – and Kudos to KOS for making themselves into fools yet again.
Well, Now You Know Why…….
…The nutroots were praising the performance of Republican Alan Schlesinger in the Connecticut Senate debates. Because Lamont completely blew it. Lieberman is pulling away in the polls and showing a rapidly growing lead.

Staying together?…..Texas example of Republican ‘Perot’ election
Here in Texas we are about as redstate as they come. Perry is a shoo-in for governor(20 point lead). But look where that 20 point lead puts him. At 35% of the vote.
Not good.
We republicans here have the exact same issue with Perry that the republican base has with Bush. TAX-SPEND. He is hardly the most popular republican in the state, but like most in our party we are going to vote for him. Perry’s 16 lane 700 mile toll road has quite a few cowboys staying home.
Grandma Strayhorn is our Perot. Her polling numbers come from all those republicans who want to dis the party. Kinky will only get the Willie greens and the survivalists to vote for him, . Bell gets ALL the dem vote. We are going to win the election, but won’t be able to use that much to our advantage. I keep trying to tell the Grandma voters why we have to stay together and they just don’t get it. They want to protest! That’ll show em! My worry is how many other Perot voters are out there in Maryland, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado. I think it is a lot. It is up to all of us to get those Perot voters to rethink what the hell their protest votes will mean for the country. I’m hopeful about this coming election, but I am far from betting on the outcome. That lady with a gavel in her hand is Clinton on steroids.
washington post; today
The FBI is investigating the possible theft of software developed by the nation’s leading maker of electronic voting equipment, said a former Maryland legislator who this week received three computer disks that apparently contain key portions of programs created by Diebold Election Systems.
Cheryl C. Kagan, a former Democratic delegate who has long questioned the security of electronic voting systems, said the disks were delivered anonymously to her office in Olney on Tuesday and that the FBI contacted her yesterday. The package contained an unsigned letter critical of Maryland State Board of Elections Administrator Linda H. Lamone that said the disks were “right from SBE” and had been “accidentally picked up.”
I’m tellin ya they are preparing for 2000. It is their insurance if the polls are wrong.
Or AJ, maybe the Democratic hacks are still too “ruling class”
to create an America First sharp, hardhitting campaign style
to motivate the voters who realize all is lost in Iraq.
Pelosi’s Pontifications…
In other news, it is great to see Lieberman taking such a lead on Lamont. I am beginning to believe there might be a November surprise yet…. not a prediction, just something for people to think about. What if Democrats LOSE seats instead of gaining t…
I moved to NC in 2001. When I went to vote in the 2002 election I voted and pushed the button to vote straight Republican. I thought to myself that I would check and see if the computer was correct. It was not. It said I had voted straight Democrat. It would not let me get back to the beginning of the ballot. I had to call the guy overseeing the polls to come and get me back. I again voted with the button straight Republican and again it said I voted straight Democrat. This happened three times and three times I had to get the same guy to get me back to the beginning. You would think the guy would see that the machine was flawed, but no, he did nothing about it. I finally went through the motion of voting for each indiviual candidate. I have used computers for 20+ years in my work and was surprised that this happened. This is just a warning to everyone who votes straight Republican with machines that leave no paper trail. Check and see who you really voted for. If I had not checked the first time I would have inadvertantly voted Democrat which I had vowed never to do again. I had no problem with the 2004 election, but 2002 still sticks in my mind. I do not trust the Democrats and felt they had somehow messed with the machines.
