Democrat Priority: Power
I am just stunned on how the worrisome news regarding Sen Tim Johnson’s critical condition is first and foremost discussion about Congressional power:
Senator Tim Johnson, Democrat of South Dakota, was reported to be in critical condition but “responsive†today after surgery to stop bleeding in his brain, as Democrats rushed to declare that his condition would not imperil the narrow majority they will carry into the new Senate next month.
A person is fighting for their life. A husband and father. It is just ghoulish to be worrying about something slow fleeting and marginal (in the bigger picture) as who runs the Senate (as if it ‘runs’ at all). This is that ‘tone’ thing that makes Americans fed up with Washington DC and the news media that covers it.
Personally I hope the man pulls through and his family can have him back.
Excellent comments, as everyone knows, the appropriate way to express political will in the USA is at the ballot box.
I certainly didn’t like the results of the Nov elections, but just as certainly I hope no one wishes someone ill just to gain political position.
I too wish Sen Johnson well and wish the best for his family.
Same here.
The people I’ve seen pushing this discussion are the media not pols, Tucker Bowtie came on strong initially but most now. I’m very angry with the media playing the tape of Johnson stuttering in his radio interview… that really is ghoulish.
The media is ghoulish. I turned my back on them years ago when in my home town a woman left her 13 year old boy with her husband at their service station while she went to the store. She came back to pick him up and found both her husband and son dead. A tire they were changing had exploded. A reporter came rushing up to her and asked her how she felt about the accident. Ghouls. The story is more important than the feelings and well-being of the people involved.
I wish Tim Johnson the best and hope he has a complete recovery. There is no sense in bringing his illness into politics.
Yo there Strata!
Would that you could extend your conscientious remarks to the people of Iraq of whom hundreds of thousands of innocents
died due to an illegal war which you defend to the present.
