Democrats Implode On Iraq
It did not take the Dems very long at all to totally skewer themselves on Iraq. They surpassed my wildest dreams of crashing and burning. Just as I gave the Reps too much credit for being able to survive the 2006 elections, I must have given the Dems too much credit for having even minimal political acumen to stave off disaster – at least for two months! But here we are entering the 3rd month of the ‘last chance’ dem Congress and this is what the LA Times is saying about the dems:
AFTER WEEKS OF internal strife, House Democrats have brought forth their proposal for forcing President Bush to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq by 2008. The plan is an unruly mess: bad public policy, bad precedent and bad politics. If the legislation passes, Bush says he’ll veto it, as well he should.
And that is just the lead in paragraph, before they lay out the details supporting their conclusions. The left is now just wishing for the Dems to stop publically embarrassing themselves and get beyond this foolishness. I don’t think the Dems have the vision to do this. They have their Iraqi Qagmire and it is tied right around their political necks. They anchored themselves to this albatross. They promised a change in Iraq, but never once realized surrender was not an acceptable option to America. Now they own the war with Bush and are showing themselves to be incompetent boobs who cannot even pass a bill, let alone produce a solution other than defeat. Too funny.
The Democrats are a one-issue party at the moment. Iraq is the only thing they have left. They are facing two Republican presidential candidates that won elections in heavily Democrat constituencies … Mitt in Mass. and Rudy in NYC. The Dems are in a world of hurt at the moment and the only thing keeping them afloat is a friendly press. As soon as the press announces that the “Emperor” that is the DNC has no clothes … it’s over. The Democratic Party is a ragtag collection of maladjusted nutcases with no vision of this country or the world beyind winning elections to keep the gravy flowing.

This is too much .. LOL
SAN FRANCISCO Peace activists continue to camp outside the San Francisco home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
They’ve been there since yesterday, demanding that Pelosi take a tougher stance against the war in Iraq.
After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday, the group marched through the Presidio and arrived at Pelosi’s Pacific Heights home around four o’clock in the afternoon.
That’s okay. Bush went out to “halp.” And, Cheney just gave his “we love Israel,” speech, that included Dubya’s dream of a 2-state solution. Forget about peace. The Saudis are really putting pressure on the Light In His Loafers, dude, in the White House.
What’s good? Both Olmert and Dubya have approval ratings in the toilet. So other than the “game” it’s hardly likely that the Mideast changes. And, I wouldn’t be so fast thinking the Saud’s end up with much real estate, either.
Could this precipitate an Israeli war sooner rather than later? Well, the syrians have added thousands of missiles.
Of course, what has not been seen is Israel’s military response.
I’d gather, first, though, Olmert needs to look for a new job.
Or? He’ll coast along on the dreck Dubya is providing; while he’s acting wiley.
In other words? You’ve heard it all before.
Like expecting santa claus to drop down the chimney. At some point everyone grows up. But the diplomats? As bad as things are, they’re glad Rudy Guiliani isn’t in the White House.
On the other hand? A lot of people are starting to see how good Guiliani looks in comparison to the shrub we have now.
Hoo boy.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m starting to get the impression that Carol Herman doesn’t like the President very much.
CH,
“On the other hand? A lot of people are starting to see how good Guiliani looks in comparison to the shrub we have now.”-
Can you be more specific?
