Liberalism = Stubbornism
The liberals’ recent attempt to ‘frame’ the war funding debate (i.e., spin like a whirling dervish) is about as bad as their policies ideas. The current idiocy is “the war cannot be won militarily”, which every other sentient being in the country knows means “the war cannot be won by the military alone”. Well duh – and the Sun can’t set in the East. But since it takes more than the military to win, it also means you cannot win without the military – and this is the part where the Liberals seem to lose their minds. I cannot drive my car on just one wheel, but I still need four wheels as well. So saying military actions alone cannot win doesn’t mean we don’t need the military component. Dems must really have a low esteem for the American people to keep trotting these silly excuses out to cover their suicidal mistakes.
The Liberal Dems in Congress went out on a “failure is our only option” limb in a mindless bout of Bush Derangement Syndrome and are now trying to convince everyone they are not the suicidal, insane ones. I cannot help the idiotic decisions these people made. I know if we win now in Iraq, given all the dems have invested in us losing, they will be destroyed as a political party. But I would rather win Iraq and lose the Democrat Party to History than lose Iraq and face decades of Jihad with an emboldened enemy. I am just not that wedded to either political party. I would have the same feelings if the Reps were out there making insane propositions. Al Qaeda must lose in Iraq, and if that crushes the Democrat Party too bad. No one forced them out there on the limb where their survival is not 100% tied to al Qaeda winning and America losing. They did that to themselves.

In the last couple of days I have had posts after I hit the submit button seemingly gobbled up into the AJ has to approve this first reading list.
Did your blog software get a bad inspired update or did I accidentally use a word I shouldn’t have?
Here is very heartwarming story:

“Cove veteran presents Purple Heart to President Bush
By Joyce May
The Cove Herald – Thursday, April 19, 2007
WASHINGTON – Bill and Georgia Thomas reported they were elated Monday when they met in the Oval Office with President George W. Bush to present him with a Purple Heart.
“We were just absolutely bowled over. Without reservation, it was one of the highlights of our life. He was such a gracious host,” Thomas said. “It was just an incredible, incredible experience.”
The couple was able to meet with President Bush for about 20 minutes to present him with one of three Purple Hearts that Bill Thomas received during his service in Vietnam.
“He said he didn’t feel like he had earned it,” Thomas said, noting the president looked thinner in person than on television.
The Thomases also were able to meet Barney, the president’s Scottish terrier, and tour the White House Rose Garden.
Thomas said he and his wife came up with the unprecedented idea to present the president with the Purple Heart over breakfast one morning a few months ago as they discussed the verbal attacks, both foreign and domestic, the commander in chief has withstood during his time in office.
“We feel like emotional wounds and scars are as hard to carry as physical wounds,” Thomas said….

Merlin,
There is so much spam hitting us daily just about the entire dictionary is on the spam list. It is either get a delay or lose your comments in a sea of spam. It runs 100-1000 to 1, spam vs comments, on a daily basis.
You folks never see the spam it is pretty rotten.
What a wonderful story!!! I bet he looks thinner. That poor man has endured more verbal abuse than any president in history. Even as much as I despised Clinton, I never said the kind of garbage that I have heard the past 6 years.
AJ, maybe it’s time to consider installing one of those “CAPTCHA” updates. We posters will have to type in one of those five- or six-character combinations (like “G5LX7F”) each time we post, but if it’s less work for you trying to weed out the spam, it might be worth it.
Aitch,
It won’t help. These are coming in as trackback links which don’t require the special entry. The only thing I can do is stop trackbacks, but then people could not see who is linking here, etc.
The Red Crescent in Iraq has asked that Congress stop thinking about pulling people out and start thinking about the humanitarian crisis it would create.
AJ
I might be different than most people but after I read your post I scroll down to look at the comments.
The trackbacks are something I don’t even look at and consider them speedbumps you have to get by to the comment section.
If I were running a blog I might want to have trackbacks as a dual ego boost and validation of my viewpoint. That is only human nature we need that feedback its how we operate and exist. No body wants to feel like they are shouting down a sewer pipe with a diminished voice coming out the eventual end of the pipe.
AJ: I’m getting damn tired of correcting you all the time!
Even your headline is incorrect; please see below for the CORRECT spelling:
Liberalism = STUPIDITY and TREASON…
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you..
Hey Merlin,
Trackbacks give upcoming blogs a chance to get some notice and it gives me a chance to see who is writing on the same subject and who may have additional information. Sorry, but the non-optimal is probably here for a while. I am lucky to not have had to turn off comments all together. In fact, I am considering opening up registration again.
AJ
I realize that but as you say right now trackbacks are putting you into and damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation from your description.
AJ
I have seen a bunch of those spammy trackbacks slip by the filters on some other blogs. I don’t like the whole concept because I would much rather have you not have to tie up time and resources to have to deal with them. It’s a sad commentary of net life. We hope we wouldn’t have to deal with those kinds of things in a more perfect ethical world. But reality strikes hard when you have to presented with things like Soothie.
The spammers have copied the Technorati index and are using it as a mailing list. So convenient that someone thought they were doing a good thing but just did their homework for them.
