Sen Obama was thrust into the US Senate by a tragedy of the politics of personal destruction. He was lifted into the Senate after the democrat hit machine opened up his GOP rivals divorce case details – against the wishes of all involved – and publicized one of his fantasies he had about his wife. It was a crude and low-life move, and the GOP purists went ape and Obama was handed an easy win. There is a lesson about no earning your achievements. It means you did not get a chance to learn the lessons required to move to the next level. We see this in spades with the one term under-wonder-kid as he makes so many rookie mistakes in his Presidential run he will probably pull an Edwards and embarrass his state so much he can’t even win re-elections.

This time Obama’s grand boner is he has, during a time of war and challenge for this country, thrown away our flag in protest to a war that was authorized by the US Congress and President Bush and re-authorized many times over by Congressional budget Bills:

You don’t have the American flag pin on. Is that a fashion statement?” the reporter asked, at the end of a brief interview with Obama on Wednesday. “Those have been on politicians since Sept. 12, 2001.”

“You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin,” Obama said. “Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest.

The true test of a patriot is standing by the country, even when it doesn’t do all you wish. Patriots do not turn on the country when things get tough – traitors do that. The American flag is our symbol of unity in the face of threats and challenges. America has no unique “culture” or cultural icons because of its melting pot nature. The one symbol of America – the political and economic system it is – is our flag.

Those who throw the flag away when the US, under full authorization of our Constitutionally elected leaders, does something they disagree with would throw this country away as well. It is when things are tough that people are tested. Many fail, like Obama just did. Obama is done running for President. From here on out it is just a waste of time and money to talk about the man who just was not ready for prime time.
