They Don’t Call It The “Clinton News Network (CNN)” For Nothing
So Clinton’s have been ‘planting’ questions and questioners at events. Colored me incredibly not shocked. As I said before, front people get out and talk to the folks at events and discuss optional topics and try and push discussions towards their candidates strengths. Sadly, Clinton has so few actually, tangible strengths her team must push the crowd to the completely inane!
“Do you prefer diamonds or pearls?†Maria Luisa Parra-Sandoval, one of several audience members who posed questions, asked her.
…
Now Ms. Parra-Sandoval is being accused, by everyone from bloggers to fellow students, of asking an airheaded, sexist question. On her MySpace page and in a phone interview, she protested that she tried to ask several substantive questions but that CNN would only let her participate through a silly one.
“The media should be more democratic and be better able to reflect our democratic process,†she said.
And does anyone think the public dance between team Clinton and Wolf Blitzer was anything more than a staged act? Folks, this is what politics has become – stage acting! And CNN knows its drooping ratings would get boosted back under another Clinton administration! Please, the reason liberals rail about the greed of big business is because THAT IS HOW THEY DO BUSINESS! The rest of us tend to be more professional and less cut throat. So let’s get over the shock that media events are highly staged, choreographed, orchestrated and controlled events. The idea of a “Town Hall” setting were any question can come up and baffle a candidate is a fantasy!
Want to know how staged this event was? Dan Riehl (and others on the left) have the lowdown on this “Student Town Hall event”:
There were only 2000 available tickets. 1000 of those tickets were given to the Nevada State Democratic Party, of which I was a member in 2005 and 2006. The other 1000 tickets were given to UNLV.
…
So what happened to the UNLV tickets? Didn’t they go to students? Not exactly. About 100 or so tickets did go to the students, and they held a lottery which selected certain students for the Debate. The other 900 or so tickets actually went to UNLV staff and professors and their family members.
So ten percent of the audience were not hand picked? Why is anyone shocked about this? CNN is acting just as the Clinton campaign did in staging these events because they are tied to the hip! CNN has a vested, financial interest in the Clinton campaign and they demonstrated it this week.
Heck, if CNN will push Saddam’s propaganda so they can stay in Baghdad and get the scoop (and the bucks) what makes anyone think they wouldn’t help out a candidate that could add to their bottom line? Why do you think all the hard core, anti-war candidates did not get the same air time? Biden was joking, but he knew what was going on. This is all scripted folks.
CNN deserves all the scorn they have earned with their advance knowledge of who the audience participants would be. Their fact checkers could have easily picked up.
A known Muslim activist
An Arkansas Democrat Party staff member with a pro Clinton history
A repeat appearance mother of a Marine
A union activist that Obama knew because he pointed that out and it was no where in her introduction description.
For CNN to describe them as undecided voters calls into the picture their credibility.
With what they should have known having a fair description of their history would have a least let viewers have some sense of historic linkage.
More is being discovered by the hour with simple search engine use and it is appearing in comment threads all over the place.
If this was a Fox debate, Media Matters would already have their 30 page research report circulating among the usual suspects.
What is needed now is a strong credible platform to point out the issues involved and get CNN to own up to their part in this charade.
More interesting stuff you can pick up with a search engine as news dribbles onto the net.
Little nuggets keep turning up on the lady
Why the Dream Act support you ask….maybe this could give a hint
When it has gotten so bad that CNN is even getting dissed by Eric Alterman you know it’s over the top
They used to be the communist news network.
The anchoress may not be happy with all the people on the right, but she has made it plain she does not care for the Clintons. She said the media would give Hillary a tongue bath. I think she is right.
The Clinton’s have been running for President for close to thirty years now. They have many more tricks to be played. Prepare to be assimilated.
Soros and his big money friends are getting ready to kick off his new 527 to run interference for Hillary
From Roll Call:
Prominent liberal activists last week laid the cornerstone for a network of unregulated Democratic-leaning political groups that are expected to dump perhaps $100 million or more into media buys and voter outreach in the run-up to the 2008 elections.
John Podesta, chief of staff in the Clinton White House and now president of the liberal Center for American Progress, Anna Burger, chairwoman of the labor coalition Change to Win, and Taco Bell heir-turned philanthropist Rob McKay filed paperwork with the Internal Revenue Service for The Fund for America, a group registered under section 527 of the federal tax code.
Representatives for Podesta, Burger and McKay all declined Roll Call’s request to discuss the new group, but several knowledgeable Democratic strategists confirmed that the The Fund for America will become a clearinghouse for soft money political contributions, limit-free gifts that are known for bankrolling television spots such as the “Swift Boat” television advertisements that during the 2004 presidential campaign questioned Sen. John Kerry’s (D-Mass.) Vietnam War service.
The strategists said it’s too early to know which specific campaigns the new group will underwrite but that it is expected to focus exclusively on issue-based television and radio campaigns, door-to-door canvassing and direct mail.
The fund also is expected to be distinctly different from its 2004 liberal forefathers in two ways: The group will not have employees and it is not expected to magically disappear after the election.
