Cindy Sheehan Is Lost
I have held back from this subject because it is clear the woman is distraught, in pain and grieving. But it is clear she has also been brain washed by the anti-war left. Brain washed to an extent that brings back memories of Jim Jones and his mindless death cult. Having seen a friend get sucked into a cult, and what it took to get him back, I understand the insidious nature of the cult beast.
Liberalism has become akin to cultists for some time now, as it has been distilled down to its far left fringe element. And Cindy Sheehan is a victim of its machinations and willingness to use anyone, in any manner, for political gain.
So now we have Cindy Sheehan in an open letter to George Bush illustrating what can happen to a vulnerable person with the proper application of propoganda.
She is punch drunk with her sorrow and new notoriety. She is finding solace from her pain in fighting a fantisized war against the evil Bush. Just listen to the dripping arrogance in her words, as she assumes she has the world’s corner on pain, suffering and sacrifice, leading to an omnipotent insight to all the world’s problems.
George, it has been seven months today since your reckless and wanton foreign policies killed my son, my big boy, my hero, my best-friend: Casey. It has been seven months since your ignorant and arrogant lack of planning for the peace murdered my oldest child. It has been two days since your dishonest campaign stole another election…but you all were way more subtle this time than in 2000, weren’t you? You hardly had to get the Supreme Court of the United States involved at all this week.
…
George, in 2000 when you stole that election and the Democrats gave up, I gave up too. I had the most ironic thought of my life then: “Oh well, how much damage can he do in four years?” Well, now I know how much you have damaged my family, this country, and this world. If you think I am going to allow you another four years to do even more damage, then you truly are mistaken. I will fight for a true vote count and if that fails, your impeachment. Also, the impeachment of your Vice President.
The delusions of granduer pumped into her by people who deem her son’s killers patriots, and her son as the face of the oppressor, is gut wrenching to read. I am not upset with Cindy – I am disgusted at what the left did to this poor woman who at one time, when she first met with Bush, felt some solace in her son’s dedication to the cause and what he died for. It is clear her son believed greatly in the cause he was fighting for.
And some power hungry people got to her, and twisted her mind into believing everything her son believed in was actually something Bush made up.
Hard work is seeing your oldest son, your brave and honorable man-child go off to a war that had, and still has, no basis in reality. Hard work is worrying yourself gray and not being able to sleep for 2 weeks because you don’t know if your child is safe.
Hard work is seeing your son’s murder on CNN one Sunday evening while you’re enjoying the last supper you’ll ever truly enjoy again.
Hard work is having three military officers come to your house a few hours later to confirm the aforementioned murder of your son…your first born…your kind and gentle sweet baby.
…
Trying to digest the fact that the leader of the country that your family has fought for and died for, for generations, lied to you and betrayed your dear boy’s sense of honor and exploited his courage and exploited his loyalty to his buddies.
The people exploiting her son are the people who brain washed her. The people who praised her son’s killers are the people exploiting his death and her pain. The people who gave her the false elixir of fame so she could forget what her son believed in, what he fought and died for, they are the ones expoiting here.
It is sad and tragic and painful to watch. In fact it is more painful than any cult suicide – at least those are over quick. Cindy Sheehan will either live out her life in this twisted, upside down fantasy, or some day the crushing reality of what she did to her son’s memory will come crashing down on her. I am not sure which is worse. But she lost the connection to her son and who he was and what he stood for, simply for her 15 minutes of pain-killing fame, fronting for her liberal exploiters.
UPDATE:
Rick Moran at Right Wing Nut House has an excellent post on this. As usual, his gift for writing expresses quite well what my awkward words can only attempt to express.
END UPDATE
Cindy Sheehan dishonors her son.
I found this:
http://www.politicalmusings.net/archives/2005/08/08/the-truth-behind-the-opportunism/
Here’s the key sentence:
“Casey Sheehan re-enlisted with the Army in August of 2003, knowing that his unit would eventually be deployed in Iraq.”
Casey Sheehan did not have to re-enlist. He knew the dangers, and he was awarded a Bronze Star for action at the time of his death.
His mother is standing on his coffin and playing the grieving mother. What a head case.
By the way, Mrs. Sheehan has met with President Bush on one occassion already. It was just with other relatives present. What is with this demand for more time?
Don’t sell yourself short, AJ. You’re an excellent writer and this is a great peice – heartfelt and well written.
I might mention it was your piece that inspired me to write mine.
Shameless, I am…truly!
I know I sent this to you in an email, but thanks again for the comments. The amount of effort you put into your daily posts just shames me sometimes. Let’s hope all sides can stop using this woman’s shame and maybe let her get back to her family. I believe she has other sons who need a mother as well.
