Well, I am sure every one was hoping that the “Arab Doctor” reported killed in the recent missile attack in Pakistan’s tribal areas would be none other than Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qaeda’s number two leader. Reports out this evening indicate it was a different doctor, one who has been linked to al-Qaeda militants in the area:

Dr. Arshad Waheed who was freed in Corps Commander case was killed allegedly in a US missile attack in occurred on March 16 in Wana.

Dr. Arshad Waheed was living with his family in Wana for providing medical treatment to the people in the ongoing fight between security forces and militants there.

This may be true or it may be a cover up, who knows. But you can learn more about the doctor and his brother who were arrested for supporting al-Qaeda and other terrorists, with some (not all) the charges dismissed due to lack of strong evidence. The news is only about one of the 9-20 militants supposedly killed in two separate locations in the same area. In other words there were many other targets taken out, so there may be more news to come.
