Well, here is a story the SurrenderMedia and Surrendercrats in Congress won’t want to see splashed across newspaper front pages and leading the news shows:

Most insurgent attacks occur in just a quarter of Afghanistan, a Nato-led force helping to fight the insurgency here said on Wednesday, dismissing a “perception” that Taliban violence is spreading.

There had been an increase in violence over the past two years, but this was because the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) had stepped up its offensive against the movement, spokesperson Mark Laity said.

“There has been more fighting, more incidents, and the reason is almost 300 percent more activity in some parts of the insurgency generated by us,” Laity said.

However, “This insurgency is contained,” he said. “This is serious but this is not a countrywide insurgency.”

This means most of Iraq and most of Afghanistan have been purged of the Islamo Fascists and we are simply mopping up the remnants that are still fighting in the last remaining enclaves. This flies in the face of Surrendercrat talking points that claim Afghanistan is being ignored because of our efforts in Iraq. The fact is both fronts on the war on terror are progressing. We have a dedicated and suicidal enemy to deal with, so eradication takes diligence, time and patience. The facts on the ground belie the conventional spin emanating from the SurrenderMedia and Surrendercrats who seem to be grasping at fantasies and not facts in debating the national security situation of our country.

Facts are stubborn things and will not be denied. While the war is not over in Iraq and Afghanistan it is proceeding towards a successful end. Impatience with the pace of progress is not a valid excuse to prematurely pull back from what we as a nation started in response to 9-11. We did not leave Hitler in Berlin to rise up again at the end of WW II for good reason. We should not do make that kind of mistake now and pull defeat from the pending jaws of victory.

Addendum: I also want to emphasize that NATO is one of those international bodies which war critics keep claiming we need to work with and listen to, so this assessment can only be denied through a severe act of incongruity with previous positions.
