Obama Fatigue Just Getting Started
Obama is getting tired and getting tiresome. A recent PEW poll noted 48% of the electorate is tired of hearing him rant:
Close to half (48%) of Pew’s interviewees went on to say that they have been hearing too much about Obama lately. And by a slight, but statistically significant margin – 22% to 16% – people say that recently they have a less rather than more favorable view of the putative Democratic nominee.
Gallup notes that Obama is losing his edge across a series of demographics just in the last month:
Â
Obama’s camp is blaming McCain’s ads, which no doubt are not helping. Â But the real problem is that Obama himself is getting tired and losing it, making matters worse. One of his biggest gaffes was is tire pressure gauge energy policy, and there are good solid reasons to call the man on this silliness. So what does the tired and haggard Obama do? He calls the American electorate ‘ignorant’ for not believing in his grade school level sound bite, which might convince some children, but adults know better.
“So, now the Republicans are going around — this is the kind of thing they do, I don’t understand it — they’re going around sending, like, little tire gauges, making fun of this idea as if this is Barack Obama’s energy plan.
“Now, two points: One, they know they’re lying about what my energy plan is. But the other thing is, they’re making fun of a step that every expert says would absolutely reduce our oil consumption by 3 to 4 percent. It’s like these guys take pride in being ignorant, you know? They think it’s funny that they’re making fun of something that is actually true.”
Now insulting my intelligence with childish policies is one thing, we expect that from the elite political class and liberal media. Â They all talk down to us lowly citizens, it’s their way of compensating for their feelings of being different. But to then go on and insult me for YOUR ignorance Senator – well let’s just say your not going to get many votes that way. Â
As I noted in my post on the tire pressure statistic (link here, again) Obama and his media managers, all ignoramuses when it comes to basic statistics, failed to appreciate the difference between possible individual results and reasonable national results. While someone who has seriously under inflated tires might see a 3-4% increase in mileage, the nation will not see any appreciable change in our energy consumption levels. As I noted transportation is not the only use of oil in this country and most people don’t have massively under inflated tires so as to gain the full 4% gain.
And none of this will change the demand coming from India and China on the world’s oil supplies. So, those of us who see a more realistic, complex reality of the energy topic are now ignorant. And I suppose the idea of Obama’s magical tire-gauge/wand, in clear Disney fashion, is pure genius?!
Yeah, right. Â Trust me, no one has won a national election calling the American people ‘ignorant’.
Â
Now we get a new Obama brand …
When I was a schoolboy, using that two-handed gesture forming an “O” would have been enough to get the crap beat out of you.
It was the equivalent of calling someone an a.hole.
… Obama, creating his own “distractions”.
