Obama Returns McCain’s Classy Congratulations With Gutter Partisan Sniping
John McCain put out, on his nickel, a truly classy ad where he personally congratulates Obama on this historic event on the historic day:
And how did Obama return the favor? How did the candidate of ‘change’ who will ‘bridge the aisle’ and bring leadership to DC respond? With the usual tired, gutter partisan sniping America is tired of. Here is the Obama campaign changing the swamp of politics:
“It won’t make much of a difference to struggling American families who John McCain chooses to be the next Dick Cheney if he continues to insist on being the next George Bush,†Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan said in a statement.
Class collides with the juvenile. This is change? Checkmate against Obama. As America repeatedly sees McCain’s ad tonight congratulating Obama on this special day before his speech, when Obama does attack McCain and the GOP it will be highlighted in harsh contrast. McCain claimed the high road and now it is too late for Obama to get off the low road. He needs the red meat in his speech to keep his base. And I doubt Obama feels he can make changes to his speech this late, not without risking flubbing the speech.
“class and civility” are dissonant discriptions of Obama-Biden-Democrats.
Wow, AJ – have you been attending classes held by Karl Rove?
Here’s the Obama campaign’s response to McCain’s ad.
“Obama campaign manager David Plouffe — who did not know the content of the ad until we read him the script — just told us that the McCain ad is “a very nice gesture. We wish more of his ads took that tone, but it’s a very nice gesture.â€
Plouffe said the Obama campaign would run a similar ad next week congratulating McCain on his nomination.”
The quote you have above is in response to the idea that McCain’s going to announce his VP soon. It was made by the Obama campaign before McCain’s ad appeared. And you have the nerve to call that the Obama “response”?
Honestly – how can you be that dishonest, and live with yourself? Shame on you.
Wow, breschau, maybe someone should have told BHO’s speechwriter. His snipe in the speech sounded pretty low-classed. A communication problem? Now that sounds like in-experience.
