New Mexico/Ohio Death Blow?
Fox called NM for Obama, which is pretty much it for McCain unless PA or WI or some blue state turns around. A lot of states are being called on a combination of polls, exit polls and minimal early returns. I am not keen on these polls, but their math is detailed and could be right. Let’s hope voters are not so predictable.
Update: Ohio is gone. It is President Obama unless some states reverse.
Only saving grace is that they won’t have 60 senators. Congratulations President Obama.
Well, at least I don’t have to watch any more returns, I can go to bed early(or do something else)
Two consolations: Senate will not be filibuster proof and
now they can’t blame every evil of the world on Republicans any more.
I had an email today with someone blaming 3 ufo’s in Ky on George Bush.
If they are true to their promises, Obama should be calling on Pres Bush tomorrow demanding he fly the white flag in Afghan and Iraq.
As of just a minute ago on the last update, McCain was ahead in Ohio according to the state government tally site:
http://vote.sos.state.oh.us/pls/enrpublic/f?p=130:14:0
I have no idea where these numbers Fox is reporting are coming from. The State of Ohio is reporting completely different numbers.
NEWS FLASH: Obama planning on spreading the vote around. It looks like it’s going to be draw.
The Ohio site appears to update every 15 minutes on the quarter hour so don’t refresh more often than that, it just wastes resources.
tough night, drive on.
What the heck … http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/ElectionsInformation.aspx?FunctionID=12&ElectionID=28 …. look at the numbers
well, they didn’t the table in Congress, there is enough left to fight the good fight.
no offense on Ohio, but half the state isn’t even counted yet.
Ohio sites just sucks
So all McCain’s years of pandering to Hispanics got him nothing from them. They are natural Democrats outside of Cuban parts of South Florida – and even there they are moving left. The polls from New Mexico said Hispanics were motivated almost entirely by economic issues – spreading the wealth, etc. Though Hispanic hostility to Gringo wars also helped Obama. (The Mexican media – so popular in NM – portrayed the Iraq war as one between ‘browns’ and ‘whites’).
John Murtha got in too. His courageous stand on the war paid off.
The disastrous Iraq war and the name Bush have sunk the Republican Party. When the legacy of open borders is added that’s pretty much it for US conservatives. Frankly they deserve it. If Republicans want to recover they need to move well to the left or to play identity politics.
Now we know what those Obama-supporting poll workers did with those extra phony registrations. They used them to cast more votes.
…
I still wouldn’t call Ohio gone yet. The state site shows a 2.5 point race with 38.75% of the precincts. That is a tighter race with more of the precincts counted than Fox is showing.
Huh? Fox has California going for McCain???????
Ohio’s state site now has it less than one point with 41% counted.
Va to Obomba……aaaaagggggghhhhhhhhh
now it is Pres Obomba.
I am prepared for a long night. I saw something interesting before it disappeared from the screen. Also, Ohio isn’t going away easily.
OK CP,
You have my attention. Will pour 1 more drink and see what happens. We need one state to turn.
