What amazes me sometimes is how resistant some people are to acknowledging self destructive and/or suicidal actions – or even inactions. People seem to be so scared of facing a threat they would prefer to walk blindly to the gallows, pretending they do not exist. Others won’t do a thing to save themselves, preferring to believe there is nothing to be saved from.

The best illustration of this is how many people deny the fact that Americans are constantly being conned out of their hard earned money by shysters who turn around and use the money to fund terrorist organizations working diligently to murder as many of us as they possibly can. It is just amazing how many people deny this bizarre form of cultural euthanasia. How many people are still going to wallow in denial now that it has been proven in a court of law that this is happening across this nation by front organizations?

On their second try, federal prosecutors won sweeping convictions Monday against five leaders of a Muslim charity in a retrial of the largest terrorism-financing case in the United States since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The five defendants, all leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, based in Richardson, a Dallas suburb, were convicted on all 108 criminal counts against them, including support of terrorism, money laundering and tax fraud. The group was accused of funneling millions of dollars to the Palestinian militant group Hamas, an Islamist organization the government declared to be a terrorist group in 1995.

The prosecutor, Barry Jonas, told jurors in closing arguments last week that they should not be deceived by the foundation’s cover of humanitarian work, describing the charities it financed as terrorist recruitment centers that were part of a “womb to the tomb” cycle.

Historically Americans seem befuddled by the idea that killers would use humanitarian aid as a cover. Why people cannot fathom this kind of covert operation is beyond me. Maybe its because they have seen this kind of approach in TV and movie scripts so often they cannot believe it actually happens. But it does. The perfect cover is to expose an opposite persona. The killer who looks innocent and meek often can get away with more killings before being caught than the obvious thug on the corner.

And of course the US news media is playing its usual part in hiding the key facts of the case, specifically the evidence uncovered against sister organizations that popped up during the trial:

One of the guilty defendants in the federal case, Ghassan Elashi, was a founding director of Washington-based CAIR, the most powerful Muslim lobbyist group in the nation.

For the first time, wiretap evidence heard in the Holy Land case put CAIR’s executive director, Nihad Awad, at a Philadelphia meeting of Hamas leaders and activists that was secretly recorded by the FBI. Participants hatched a plot to disguise payments to Hamas terrorists as charitable giving.

“Government officials ought to study that evidence to realize CAIR is not what it presents itself as,” said Steve Emerson of the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

Steve Emerson has been the tip of the spear on these fake charities (who get tax breaks!) conning money out of Americans to fund our enemies. He has spent something like 14 years sounding the alarm bells, which mostly went ignored during the Clinton Administration. His website is a wealth of information.

A test for the Obama administration will be how it deals with CAIR. Now that there is reasonable evidence it too has a hidden side to it, that its supposed ‘good works’ are a cover for terrorist funding, the Obama justice department better not repeat the mistakes of the Clinton administration and simply ignore these threats. President Barack Hussein Obama has a real credibility challenge facing him.

I want to end this post with a reminder of who is the recipient of this money being gathered up by tax exempt organizations here in the US:
