My Terrorist Neighbor
I grew up in Mclean and Great Falls, VA (well before they became the residential areas of the ungodly rich). I lived at times in Falls Church, Fairfax and elsewhere in the area. It is therefore strange to hear that a kid from your area is now a convicted AQ terrorist who wanted to kill our President:
Abu Ali, a 24-year-old U.S. citizen born to a Jordanian father and raised in Falls Church, Va., could get life in prison on charges that include conspiracy to assassinate the president and providing support to al-Qaida.
I have very, very strange feelings about this.
What do you mean by strange feelings?
I live in the Falls Church area. Lots of them have been arrested around here.
I hope young people who are contemplating being terrorists draw the appropriate conclusions from this conviction.
The former Imam of the mosque here sheltered some of the 9-11 terrorists in Falls Church. He knew them already in California. He claimed he was an American citizen but that was a lie. He wrote an article in National Geographic and pretended to be a moderate who urged us not to overreact and alienate Arabs. That was a lie. He ran away to Yemen when the FBI came sniffing around. And his house was down the street from where I used to live.
Long sentences sounds like a plan to me.
Glad that this guy is gonna be locked away for a long time.
