Fight For Christmas
The number of people in this country who celebrate CHRISTMAS as part of the celebration of Christ’s life (whether you are religous like most or spiritual like me) is such a lop sided majority I do not understand why there is a fight to call Christmas ‘Christmas‘!
If it’s a spruce tree adorned with 10,000 lights and 5,000 ornaments displayed on the Capitol grounds in December, it’s a Christmas tree and that’s what it should be called, says House Speaker Dennis Hastert.
Hastert, R-Ill., in a letter to the Architect of the Capitol, recommended that the annual Capitol Holiday Tree, as it has been called the past several years, be renamed the Capitol Christmas Tree.
Folks, it is simple. If your Christmas season choir will not sing Christmas songs, pull your kids out and peform carrols outside the entrence. If the store doesn’t allow the word Christmas on their advertising or to slip through their employees lips – return the merchandise for cash or tell the manger why you will not be buying anything from them this year. We outnumber the hypersenstive people who cannot tolerate diversity (probably due to some serious insecurity issues). We rule can push this battleship which ever way we want if we lean together!
It is not our fault they cannot face those who are different from them, and it is time we stop worrying about it and let them seek counseling on their own.
I couldn’t agree more. As I wrote on my blog, it’s time that secular America made Christians feel welcome instead of making us feel like second class citizens.
Just as the Administration is pushing back against their Iraq War critics, it’s time for Christians to start pushing back, too, in a firm way.
