It is interesting around DC when the next round of neophytes come into town pretending to be Gods. I vaguely remember Reagan’s crowd, they seemed confident but professional. The administration of Bush the Elder was just a continuation of Reagan’s teams and goals so there was an unusually long period where things did not change much.
Then came the partying Clintons. They enjoyed the trappings of power. When not partying they were pushing people around like serfs. They stumbled and bumbled and pretty much cost the Democrat Party their near-century long hold on Congress. When Bush the Younger took over he was actually an experienced hand – he had been in DC with his father. He brought on experienced people. The tone of the parties changed and became fewer and barbecues flourished. But the bumbling and fumbling died down.
But then came smooth PR man President Obama, and his young team of neophytes. The Dems don’t want to admit this, but these guys have bumbled and fumbled to a level never before seen. That is why their agenda is dying and their support crashing and the heat is rising.
A great example of this is how team Obama has caught themselves in a legal trap with their ‘fishy’ request on information about opposition to their health care debacle:
“The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it,” Judge Andrew Napolitano, a FOX News analyst, said Friday.Â
“There’s also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can’t try to rewrite history by pretending it didn’t receive anything,” he said.
“If the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute.”
And if they do both, you get the classic DC cover up and call for congressional investigations. In this case team Obama tried to intimidate Americans expressing free speech about their concerns about the liberal crazy scheme on health care. By attempting to collect data on Americans from nosy and arrogant Americans willing to break this nation’s laws in a lost cause, Obama has created the ground swell of support for the investigations!
Remember when liberals all cried foul because they were making up wild scenarios about President Bush tapping their lines (and listening to their inane babble) instead of the NSA monitoring terrorists overseas and providing leads to the FBI when they contacted someone in the US? Remember the drama queen outrage of invasion of privacy from the lunatic left?
And now Obama has asked for those same lunatics to turn over evidence of opposition to Obamacare to the feds – an open and clear effort to snoop on Americans! The left truly is suffering from major mental issues to think that the METHOD of collecting information is what makes it legal or illegal, verses what the information is being collected for. In the case of Bush it was to stop any future 9-11s. In the case of team Obama it was to harass citizens.
Seems the nightmares of the far left have come true – Big Brother is watching and using spies hidden among us. Spies who are not bound by the processes of law enforcement – nor trained in the rules protecting our rights. Obama went to the angry left mob since no real law enforcement entity would try such a foolish and illegal stunt.
