Media Frenzy on Dean

Published by at 7:39 am under All General Discussions

OK, the MSM is circling like sharks now that Dean has run his mouth to the point he is now in deeeeep trouble. But it took a FOXNews reporter to nail Dean – and Washington Post ran with it up front.

When Dean flies off, randomly taking cheap shots at people, his desire to invoke a negative emotion towards his adversaries means the logic of the statements cannot help but indicate the hate that is behind them. I pointed this out previously when Dean came out with ‘white christian party’ line, which is fine by itself, until you integrate it with the other statements to form conclusions and inferences to his mindset.

I recall someong on a blog somewhere had pointed out this very same ‘logic bomb’ (just can’t recall where I saw it), but this is in-Dean’s-face funny:

It was a scalding day on Capitol Hill yesterday, and that includes tempers. Things got particularly hot during a photo op in the office of Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) after the minority leader and his Senate deputies completed a 17-minute meeting with the hot-tongued Howard Dean.

After several seconds, a booming voice cut through the noise. It belonged to Brian Wilson, a Fox News correspondent who was standing in the middle of the crowd. He asked Dean “if people are focused on the other things that you’ve said about hating Republicans, about Republicans being dishonest and then this latest comment about the Republican Party is full of white Christians. You say you hate Republicans — does that mean you also” hate white Christians?

Dean didn’t respond and Reid talked about having a “positive agenda.” Wilson was so insistent that at one point, Durbin asked, “Does he run the press conference?”
….
Durbin would recount the scene with some exasperation. He chided the media for avoiding important issues in favor of trivial matters. “Please, for a minute, get to the substance,” he said to a group of reporters. “You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.”

Really, why shouldn’t the people know if (a) the leader of one of the two major parties and/or (b) the major party itself hates people of faith? Especially when the majority of the voices from the left seem to hate people of religion.

UPDATE:

NYTimes has a similar article that focuses on democrat leadership responses:

As he visited Capitol Hill on Thursday, he faced a growing number of critics and received a private scolding from leading members of his party for several derogatory remarks he has made about Republicans in recent weeks
…”I’ve always been very cautious and careful to deal with my Democratic friends, my independent friends, my enlightened Republican friends, so I’m very concerned about anything that is unnecessarily divisive,” said Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska

UPDATE II:

Michelle Malkin has more on this

    AJStrata-
I guess this might seem like a change in subject from the post, but I dont know other way to put this out (it seemed fitting because of more Dem Cro-Magnonism). The Washington post has this story, thanks to Drudge, about more talks by the GOP on Soc Sec reform. Most of the info is mum, according to Sen. Grassley R-Iowa, but he did say that there is progression in the finance committee. From what I can pick out, the 11 Rep are trying to build a consenual plan that has a high potential of making it through the House and Senate. And, as usual, the Dems talk of immmediate refusal of a bill containing anything of Bush’s plan of private accounts, even if the bill only calls for partial privatization. The moral of the story basically comes down to that the GOP once again are not playing petty games and being willing to compromise a deal in the best interest of the nation while the Dems stubbornly try to show they have “values” or even basic economic 101 knowledge and bog down the legislation process for absolutely no reason. This country was founded on the idea of comprimise, dammit. Dems need to quit whining. So here is the URL, because I seem to be PC illiterate at the moment: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/06/09/AR2005060901775_pf.html.

I agree. I saw the article and glanced at it, but have had to deal with an Instalanche since we were referrenced on a major site. I decided to wait for the formal presentation to see if what you and suspect will come to pass
