Self Defense Can Kill You
I am stunned at what could be a gross miscarriage of justice. I man asleep in his house with his 18 month old baby is awakened by the sounds of a loud intruder and shoots the intruder – only to face murder charges. Not negligent homicide or manslaughter, but pre-meditated murder (is there any other kind?).
Read this and realize this man and his child lived in what has tor be a rough neighborhood since a likely drug dealer shared his roof in the duplex he called home.
So how is it anyone could be convicted of premeditated murder when the police admit the man was woken up from a dead sleep in his own bed and shot the intruder?
I saw this troubling story on another site you linked to also. I wonder why the policeman ended up at the wrong address? Maybe just because it was a duplex.
I’d like to know more about the whole circumstances.
The date of the killing was December 26. That happens to be Mao’s birthday.
This may sound far-fetched, but I know about a killing where the December 26 date may have been chosen because it was symbolic.
The writing on that site is very tiny. I will read it again tomorrow.
From what I read, this sounds pretty bad. It is good people are asking questions about this.
Maybe there is a way to get the trial testimony. That’s always what really counts.
There have been several lists of facts published in this case. The three most relevant seem to be: 1)The policeman shot was the son of the police chief in a southern state. 2)The policeman was white, the shooter was black. 3)The police had a warrant for the house, issued on the strength of an informat, how ever, the policeman shot was the ONLY person with the name of the informat, so no one knows the evidence. Not even the judge who issued the warrant.
