Senate Panel Votes Down Government Rationing Of Health Care

Published by at 4:15 pm under All General Discussions,Obamacare

Good news out of the Senate Finance Committee:

A key Senate panel on Tuesday voted against creating a new government health insurance plan to compete with the private market.

The 15-to-8 vote in the Senate Finance Committee could forecast the fate of the public option in the Senate as a whole.

Not even close. This should have the liberals going berserk.

significance: none of the Blue Dogs in the House will now be willing to fall on their swords and vote for a public option, not now that they know the Senate is going to make their sacrifice meaningless.

Of course, once the public option is out, left-wing support for this thing begins to crumble… I’m beginning to think that it isn’t the Senate that’s going to be the biggest problem – I don’t think Pelosi will be able to get *any* bill through as the House Dem’s collapse into factions.

That’s what they get for making an incompetent indealogue Speaker.

I wonder if this whole thing might go down? Will they end up with something or not?

    WWS:

You are absolutely right about Pelosi, what a disaster she has been.

So…what will be the next step for this Senate Finance Committee? Rework the bill in a watered-down fashion?

    Bring in more Republicans?

    And what’s the roll call?

  6. ivehadit says:

    From gatewaypundit:
“Democratic proposals passed by another Senate committee and by three House committees all include the public option so it is not dead yet. ”

And on FoxNews with Bret Baird, Nina Easton said that she had been told by the WH that it was a 60/40 chance that the nuclear option would be used.
    🙁

  7. kathie says:

Ive….I saw that too. Is Obama so arrogant that he would have the dems use reconciliation to pass the bill with a public option. I think maybe!

  8. lurker9876 says:

Somebody said that there are more amendments that need to be voted on by the Senate Finance Committee and many of these amendments include the public option.

I hope the Democrats WILL use the reconciliation option as that will be the death knell for them in next year’s elections.

Uhm, don’t look now, but it looks like ACORN is up to their old tricks again and got BUSTED. Fraudulent absentee ballots this time. This is worse than phony registration, this is casting fraudulent ballots.

    Again, Democrats caught cheating.

In the don’t look now category ACORN and SEIU (Union) are tight as fleas on a dog and the dog is the American taxpayer.
Wade Rathke co-founded ACORN, founded SEIU. tried to get names of healthcare workers in Kansas City so as to organize them.

Union funds and taxpayer funds given to ACORN to steal elections, subsidize housing and rippoff the taxpayer by helping clients avoid taxes.
Kathleen Parker has a great editorial on it.

Looks like healthcare is a whole lot about the taxpayers paying out the rear to fund UNIONS…..This is the Democrat way!

This pisses me off if I have any choice in my buying habits union or no I will buy no union I will buy Chinese before I buy union made. Its bad enough the unions force members to pay dues and give the money to Dems.
If healthcare passes we will all support Unions who will organize and destroy our heath services. I’m in for the next march!
Hopefully while the Senate Scum, Congress Critters and Presidente Pinnochio are in town. I would like to surround their playground and not let em’ out unless they walk the walk through thousands of ripped off taxpayers.
