A New World Cult

Published by AJStrata at 8:45 am under All General Discussions

A new world cult of idiots has formed:

U.S. President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for giving the world “hope for a better future” and striving for nuclear disarmament, in a surprise award that drew both warm praise and sharp criticism.

Oh pullease. The man has done nothing but spout syrupy words that wouldn’t pass the laugh test in a Sesame Street skit for kindergarten. The left gets a shot at leading, bungles the hole mess and sends out a PR event like this to shore up all that ‘hope’.

Pathetic. Nobel’s hope for the prize has now been ruined. It’s become a political game, not a serious challenge to humanity. This is what happens when you give control of serious matters to silly liberals.

I think turning al Qaeda from being the future of Islam on the Muslim  Street (9/11) to being the enemy of Islam (today)  is doing some incredible heavy lifting for a more peaceful future.

Giving vacuous speeches???

It’s hard to even get worked up about this, it’s so pathetic.

I have an old little league trophy for when our team won second place in a local league when I was in 3rd grade. That old piece of tin still means more than the prize Obama just got, since it was at least based on some type of actual accomplishment.

A man with even a shred of honor or dignity would turn this down, begging that they wait for the right time. But then we’re talking about Obama.

I can see them giving this to him every year for some time to come.

Unbelievable. After this nothing will surprise me. I wonder how many times he will use the 1st personal pronoun in his acceptance speech?

The nomination had to take place Feb 1st at the latest – that’s just a few weeks after his inauguration. He sure got a lot done in that time.

    Poor Bill Clinton!

I guess I should not be surprised, but I can’t get over it at all!

The Nobel prize of any type lost its credibility long ago. It is now the liberal arm of nuttiness.

“The nomination had to take place Feb 1st at the latest thats just a few weeks after his inauguration. He sure got a lot done in that time.”

I was going to make the same point. What was BO doing before that? Are we to believe campaigning for President is worthy of a Nobel Peace prize?? Maybe John McCain and Hillary Clinton should share the prize too…

It going to be interesting how this is spun in the weeks to come, but we can now say that you can do nothing and still get a Nobel Peace Prize – much like the IPCC and Al Gore in 2007!

I always like to point out to people who tout the IPCC Nobel Prize that it was *** NOT *** awarded to them in the Physics category…

It is SO Obama………words. All you need to achieve great heights are words. How precious!

  9. lacegrl130on 09 Oct 2009 at 11:17 am

He claims he did not know he was nominated. Really? Don’t they contact you throughout the process? The whole thing is so stupid. The Nobel Prize means NOTHING anymore (for peace, that is.)

  10. owlon 09 Oct 2009 at 11:32 am

    Yes, it is SO…….

He is now accepting it as a ‘call to action’. Let’s see………….1)denuke USA 2)bankrupt USA 3)Global Tax.

Yep. I can see why they gave it to him. Just a little more pressure from the Left to ‘hurry up’ and not let the world down.

When I first heard, it was just soooo perfect. I howled like you see the posters that do the “hhaaaa-haaaa-heee-he-omg-lol, etc. Then you think about the troops and you cry.

Could I please have Jimmy back?

People never took this plant serious. Can anyone in Washington stop this dictator lover?

A peace prize for what?????? Winning an election??????

A new entitlement that will cost $2 trillion over next 20 years actually REDUCES the deficit???????

I woke up to an alternate universe!!!!!!

  12. owlon 09 Oct 2009 at 12:45 pm

I disagree that he has done nothing. If he stepped down tomorrow, this person that none were taking seriously in 2004 has left a path of destruction a mile wide.

We have never had anyone even close to the power this dangerous to America.

  13. crosspatchon 09 Oct 2009 at 12:49 pm

If you are this year’s darling of the far left, you win a Nobel Prize. Last year it was Al Gore. The “Peace” prize just means “we give this to the most popular person in leftist circles this year”. It has nothing to do with actual “peace”.

  14. dhunteron 09 Oct 2009 at 1:08 pm

Oh you mockers, you naysayers, wait till he wins the HEISMAN next!

  15. KauaiBoyon 09 Oct 2009 at 1:49 pm

In that case every Miss America contestant should receive this prize as they always have nice speeches about how they would bring about world peace and save all the children. Plus they look better in a swimsuit than Obama which contributes to world peace, except in the Muslim world.

What is the name of the prize that he gets for crushing the hopes and dreams of half of the country and instead creating fear and distrust and being the most divisive leader in American history—the Nobama Prize???

Other notable winners—Yassar Arafat and Enron advisor Paul Krugman.

  16. KauaiBoyon 09 Oct 2009 at 1:55 pm

Wait a second —-didn’t Nobel invent TNT? And didn’t he have any common sense to know that it wouldn’t be used for peaceful purposes if humans got a hold of it? So I guess the spirit of the prize is to recognize half ass efforts with no regard to how you are impacting the world. Then in an oxymoronic way bobo earned this.

  17. Trent_Telenkoon 09 Oct 2009 at 2:46 pm

Gore, Carter, Arafat, Anan all got a Nobel Peace Prize .

What does it mean when all of those clowns have received it and Reagan didn’t for destroying the Soviet Union?

Bill Clinton deserved a Nobel Peace Prize for saving the Bosnians, and stopping Serb aggression, when no one else would.

But the Nobel Peace Prize is no longer about deeds.

It is just another award that’s lost all meaning in terms real accomplishments rather than words spoken.

That makes Obama’s Nobel the perfect affirmative action prize, IMO.

Obama should get the Cy Young award. Did you see that arm at the All-Star game. Wow.

So if the Ego Landed (Drudgereport) last week does the winning of the Nobel Prize mean it is back in flight and heading for a SuperNova?

That is likely the only thing that will bring it down…

Anyone notice in his acceptance speech he claimed he ended one war allready? That was a gigantic mistake.

  21. Dorf77on 09 Oct 2009 at 5:18 pm

Speaking only own mind; I never thought I would think better of W J Clinton than A current POTUS. Shame on me…….

  22. Terryeon 09 Oct 2009 at 6:18 pm

If they will give it to Arafat they will give it to anyone.

  23. ivehaditon 09 Oct 2009 at 7:39 pm

So, if the Olympics didn’t come to America because of George W. Bush can we now say we got this award BECAUSE of George W. Bush? The REAL purveyor of peace.

Did you see at gateway pundit that there were “10 Sentences. 16 Uses of I/Me/My” by obama today?

I see a man who is absolutely uncomfortable with himself because he knows, as president, he is empty. Humiliating.

And to the Nobel committee: No one defines America but Americans. Not euro libs or commie soviets or tinpot dictators.

And lastly, all I can say is, surmizing from the liberals’ continuous comments, that the Political Industrial Complex which is so corrupt and entrenched in power, was extremely afraid of George W. Bush. And, imho, for good reason.

Thank you George Bush, for your courage and for all you did to defeat our enemies, within and without. There are many in this country on the right and the left who did not stand by you or assist you. But there are many who believed in you…and still do.

  24. ivehaditon 09 Oct 2009 at 7:44 pm

And I like this from Tammy Bruce:
snip/”Make no mistake, this is an attempt by the Euro Elite (and we know what a great track record they have running the world) to directly impact the American president’s decision making, as well as hasten our demise as the world’s political and moral foundation. They know what they’re doing as they confirm Barack Obama as epitome of a Useful Idiot for the Left.”

The President tries to enlist the Taliban .. meanwhile the DNC uses the pejorative “Taliban” to describe the Republican reaction to the Nobel.

If the President can’t negotiate with the domestic “Taliban” what makes any one think that after the DNC insults them that they will have any better luck with the “Taliban” in Afghanistan.
