Petulent NY Times

Published by at 10:22 am under All General Discussions,FISA-NSA

Great take on the NY Times true motives for their leaks at Shrink Wrapped – they are lashing out at being ignored. Sadly, this is probably true.

And an update on SBD’s idea for a class action suite. Dr Sanity is getting lots of emails and comments here (one worth a serious bit of money) supporting the class action law suit. The Anchoress keeps compiling like minded postings. We need someone to lead this effort and ASAP.

    AJ,

I’ll have solid info sometime tomorrow.

    MerryJ1–

The thing I wonder about is if going to court would let the NYT subpoena sensitive information from the government.

The problem with fighting back is that more gets leaked.

It’s the same with Republicans and Democrats–intelligence information is always being leaked in a partisan way to damage opponents.

But the information gets leaked–that’s a problem.

Couldn’t we could just waterboard ’em?

    Snapple,

It is highly doubtful a class action suite by Americans could lead to a subpoena for classified material.

Agreed, AJ. If anything, I think the defendants would have to produce their sources to try to exonerate themselves. Heh.

Although, Snapple’s “waterboarding” suggestion would give a certain type of satisfaction.

I left a comment & question for you on the previous thread. Should I copy-paste it here?

Addendum: The comment is on “Press can’t stop itself from helping our enemies.”
