Jones' own comment that he would sooner delete the data than hand it over would say that he believed the data to exist at the time he made that comment. It's a shame that your good friend Charles Johnson is vigorously claiming that this entire issue has been made up by "big energy and big tobacco", and is a completely false scandal made up simply to sandbag the Copenhagen conference. He's also banning anyone on his blog who dares to claim any different. A real scientific genius we got there. You would have more credibility if you were more careful about the company you keep.
