Saddam Dreamed Of Terrorist Attacks In US

Published by at 9:25 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

The left is so mindlessly obsessed with Bush hating they will never accept how suicidally wrong they were in dismissing the threat that was Saddam Hussein. What the left never grasped was Hussein’s ability to help create future 9-11’s against this country. And apparently there is tape of Saddam dreaming such dreams [hat tip to reader Snapple]:

Among the treasure trove of information captured after Saddam Hussein’s fall were tape recordings of the Iraqi leader discussing weapons of mass destruction with top aides.

Transcripts of Saddam’s tapes reviewed by NBC News show him ruminating about future terror attacks in the United States using weapons of mass destruction.

“We shouldn’t be surprised to see a car bomb with nuclear [material] explode [in] Washington, either germ or chemical,” Saddam tells aides. “So this is coming,” Saddam says on the tapes, “but not from Iraq,” he adds, seeming to indicate that Iraq would not be the source of any such attack.

Emphasis mine. The statement “but not from Iraq” could easily mean Saddam was making clear he wanted no traces of these acts to link back Iraq. In fact it seems more an indication that there was a plan and he was reminding his top people of the plan. He knew it was coming!

Why would Saddam’s council discuss speculation? Isn’t this a meeting regarding the business of state? The liberal media has no evidence Saddam was discussing for the tape how Iraq would not be involved. So the MSNBC ‘speculation’ looks like simple wishful thinking. How could Saddam know something was coming and not be a part of it?

Then the council discusses one of the planned attacks and how the linkage cannot be traced back to the council:

An unidentified Saddam aide replies that biological weapons are easy to construct: “… any biologist can make it in water tank and kill 100,000 person … so you can’t accuse a country, one person can do it. One American person can do it in a house, next to the White House.”

Again, is this speculation or the actual plan and how they covered tracks? Is it any wonder this plan mirrors the chemical attack that was detected and stopped in Jordan?

Jordanian authorities said Monday they have broken up an alleged al Qaeda plot that would have unleashed a deadly cloud of chemicals in the heart of Jordan’s capital, Amman.

The plot would have been more deadly than anything al Qaeda has done before, including the September 11 attacks, according to the Jordanian government.

Among the alleged targets were the U.S. Embassy, the Jordanian prime minister’s office and the headquarters of Jordanian intelligence.

I do not recall when the tapes where supposedly made, but we do know terrorist plans are adjusted as events warrant. And it may have been that this plan was shelved and then attempted again later. But what is clear is Saddam did dream of terrorist attacks on the US. He wanted another 9-11.

This sign that was found in Nasiriya–says everything. U.S. Marines searching Iraqi military headquarters in Nasiriya Iraq, that was the site of intensive fighting and they came across a mural depicting a plane crashing into a building complex resembling New York‘s twin towers. (I don’t have a date on this, I’m assuming this was not long after we went into Iraq.) I wish I knew what it says in Arabic, but it looks to me as though Saddam is pretty proud of the crash-
