Saddam-Bin Laden Attacked US Forces?

Published by at 3:42 pm under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

The liberal left is in deep, deep trouble with the news that Saddam and Bin Laden agreed to work jointly on interests in the region (not really news) and a few months later there were attacks on US military personel in Saudi Arabia:

An Iraqi intelligence document released last week states that bin Laden met in Sudan with senior Iraqi intelligence agents on Feb. 19, 1995, where he requested help in conducting “joint operations against foreign forces” in Saudi Arabia.

Reporting on the bombshell document on Wednesday, ABC News noted:

“Given that the document claims bin Laden was proposing to the Iraqis that they conduct ‘joint operations against foreign forces’ in Saudi Arabia, it is interesting to note that eight months after the meeting — on November 13, 1995 — terrorists attacked Saudi National Guard Headquarters in Riyadh, killing 5 U.S. military advisors. The militants later confessed on Saudi TV to having been trained by Osama bin Laden.”

But there is no connection between Bin Laden and Iraq! None. As long as you keep yours eyes shut tight.

Update: ABC now reporting according to Drudge. There are a lot of left wingers who are eating their words right now. And continuing the embarrassing Russian bribery I posted on earlier – it seems the Russian ambassador was possible paid to leak US war plans:

Two Iraqi documents dated in March 2003 — on the eve of the U.S.-led invasion — and addressed to the secretary of Saddam Hussein, describe details of a U.S. plan for war. According to the documents, the plan was disclosed to the Iraqis by the Russian ambassador.

Well now we know why Russia opposed military action. Wonder when we will learn more about France’s reasons.

You’ll notice on the ABC link, there was a paper documenting Iraq’s interest in French politics and money (funding)

Take notice of the time period many of these documents were hearing about, US reps in Iraq at this time period and some of the dubious activities of disgruntled previous US personnel.

    Lids are coming off.

I’m almost speechless. If even half of this stuff is true, it is simply damning. Imagine it, the Russian ambassador to Iraq bribed by Saddam Hussein to acquire US war plans. Oh, and let’s not all pretend that’s all he was paid to do…

Thinking about the fact that there are still thousands of documents to sift through, I cannot even imagine what we’re going to dig up next. I need to start learning Arabic right away!

  3. Russia Told Saddam Our War Plans…

The latest is a bombshell, but not too surprising. It details what may very well be Russia giving Iraq our attack plans and the size of our forces prior to invasion. With friends like these

    50,000 boxes is it?

Get ready, the left is going to come out with some pretty “twisted” arguments why none of it matters.

Yeah, such as, it doesn’t matter that Saddam bought off France and Russia on the Security Council, it was still the wrong thing to do because the UN didn’t sanction it! With France forcing Germany, Turkey, and whoever else they wield their EU powers over, same thing. All will be swept under the rug by those against the war. The goal posts will simply move. Easy. They’ve been doing it for years.
