Nevada Must Be Proud Of Their Senator!

Published by at 8:20 am under All General Discussions

Senator Reid attempted to bully through a last gasp of liberal madness this week in his omnibus porkulus bill. Engorged with old earmarks his staff put in under the ruse to pretend GOP senators were just as pork addicted as the left, the bill was an affront to the American people, who had sent a clear message to DC – stop spending and cut back to the essentials.

Seems DC finally has at least learned to pay some attention to We The People:

Nearly $1.3 trillion in unfinished budget work was packed into the spending measure, including $158 billion for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave up on the bill Thursday after several Republicans who had been thinking of voting for it pulled back their support.

Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky had thrown his weight against the bill in recent days, saying it was “unbelievable” that Democrats would try to muscle through in the days before Christmas legislation that usually takes months to debate.

“Just a few weeks after the voters told us they don’t want us rushing major pieces of complicated, costly, far-reaching legislation through Congress, we get this,” McConnell said. “This is no way to legislate.”

The turn of events was a major victory for earmark opponents like Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Tom Coburn, R-Okla., who for years have been steamrolled by the old-school members of the powerful Appropriations Committee.

The spending barons saw their power ebb in the wake of midterm elections that delivered major gains for Republicans – with considerable help from anti-spending tea party activists.

Change is coming – it is just not what Obama, the liberal democrats or the pathetic bureaucracy thought was coming. Instead of changing into high gear spending, massive deficits and stupid government solutions this nation wants to reverse a century of bureaucratic bloat. We can live well without the bureaucrats, who really do nothing but stuff their pockets with our tax money. The myth of living without CONSTANT government intervention is busted.

And now the American people demand government be cut back down to size and get out of our daily lives.

After seeing how Mitch McConnell and DeMint got the omnibus bill removed from the floor, whatever reasons Mitch used to convince those 9 Republican appropriators, I thought…mmmm…NO MORE STIMULUS BILLS! NO MORE BAILOUTS!

How about defunding those ethanol subsidies that are in this tax rate extension bill?

One interesting trend in several articles this morning is that the msm headlines now say “Tax HIKES “.

Charles Krauthammer continues with “tax cuts”, which brought to Don Surber’s post…it is NOT a tax cut! I’ve had to correct some people on that one, too, Don.

Will this finally put those RINOs to shame and start acting like conservative Republicans for ONCE and for GOOD?!?!?!?!?

And, oh, don’t forget, be sure your closets are CLEAN.
