When Government Waste, Fraud & Abuse Become The Norm

Published by at 9:52 am under All General Discussions

One of the reasons the American people have become very libertarian in their views on government is because the government has become a massive money-pit of incompetence. As I listened to Democrats cry ‘Wolf!’ in the well of the House, claiming that cutting useless programs would starve children and hurt the elderly I realized no one believes this liberal garbage any more – not even the culprits on the House we were mouthing simpleton platitudes in their ridiculously expensive (and quite bloated) outfits.

The fat cat Democrats were crying about the fact they were not going to be living high on the hog anymore, pretending to do good when all they produce is failures and deficits, when it dawned on me only the truly gullible are buying it anymore. Congress and the Feds are no more likely to fix anything than the tooth fairy is.

The problem is that the federal bureaucracy is brimming over with incompetents in way over their heads. I have seen 10 years of people promoted into decision-making positions with no clue what is they need to manage. And when confronted by those who do know, the survival instinct is to move the expertise out and pad the team with a sea of incompetence – deep enough to make the head incompetent appear to be in control simply by comparison.

I give you as a prime example of the lameness of this generations imagination and competence a recent study that blew my mind away:

According to the CDC, 37 million adults in the US have hearing loss and close to half of those older than 75 are affected. This week, U.S. researchers found that people who are hard of hearing have higher risk of developing dementia as they age.

Hearing loss is as much a feature of old age as gray and thinning hair – not to mention dementia. Having glanced at this monument to idiocy I can see the ‘science’ behind it is of the same low caliber that created the myth of man-made, CO2-driven, global warming. I can’t wait to see the sequel:

“Researchers discover that gray hair is linked to dementia, as are birthday candles, sunrises and the number of full moons.”

Folks – the missing link in all this is ‘old age‘! I promise you that we not only wasted a lot of money on this, when they go through the next phase we will be barraged by stupid conclusions like “using a hair dye to take away the gray hair may be linked to correcting dementia, since most people using dye to cover their gray are no likely to have serious signs of dementia’ [since most people don’t get serious dementia].

We have filled the federal bureaucracy with wall-to-wall incompetence, protected by endless reams of process used to cover up their mistakes. The only path forward is to cut government down to the barest minimum. Even needed services (like education) will be cut if there as been no clear and significant improvement (like education).

AJ, did you get a chance to watch the Stansberry Research video?
I would love to hear your take on the contents despite the fact it is an advertisement…thx!

Congratulations and welcome to the club! Probably the biggest difference between us out here in Flyover Country and those who are connected to Washington is that the vast majority of us out here came to this conclusion about 20 years ago. (if not 40)

    now let the revolution roll!!!

That’s pretty funny. These people are supposed to be scientists? I am of an age where I remember a kid wouldn’t be allowed to graduate grammar school with such a lack of basic reasoning power. Now, they have college degrees. And are presidents. Yikes.

Look at Wisconsin and its protests by the union leaders and members.

Then we hear Obama claiming an assault on any cuts to collective barganing and what not.

    Good grief!

Ivehadit, I’ve seen the Stansberry presentation and believe that most of their predictions will come true. There is one piece that is so radical that is hard to believe but it’s truly possible.

    What?
Not even a single attack on “the far right”?

Lurker, it is really frightening. What they call “normalcy bias” I call cognitive dissonance. We are going to start preparing because I believe, as soros said, this is the culmination of his life’s work.
    Pray for intervention.

My friend and I were discussing whether platitudes have four legs or six. Anybody know?

  9. WWS says:

platitudes have 8 because they be spinnin’ webs o’ deceit!!!

oh AJ you gotta do a post on the Wisconsin Runaways.

End Game of Liberalism – Deny the People, Deny their own Duty, Run Away and Hide.

Wisconsin Dems are repeating what the Texas Dems did. Didn’t work for the Texas Dems and it doesn’t look like it will work for the Wisconsin Dems either because the tide is changing to disfavor the unions. The unions don’t realize that they’re turning more Americans off.

I’m praying that Scott Walker will not capitulate to the unions, Dems, and Obama.

But he doesn’t have all of the votes, does he? He just needs one Dems for the quorum before getting a simple vote, right?

  11. WWS says:

Government Unions are now true Enemies of the People.

they need to be dealt with as such.

  12. Redteam says:

Wait a minute there!!! I’ve had grey hair for years but don’t have any hearing loss or dementia. Or if I do, I can’t remember what I don’t remember. Just kidding…

Seems as if reality has begun to set in in Wisconsin. You can just bet if the vote in the WI senate was to give the unions more benefits those Cowards that have fled the scene would be there ringing the cowbells.

Led by that most incompetent of all, BHO.

We need to be absolutely up in arms about this.

The DHS’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement department has lately claimed for itself the right to seize and shutter domain names without substantial due process. Unsurprisingly, it is now making enormous, crushing errors as it exercises its self-appointed role as domain cop. The latest bungle? Erroneously shutting down 84,000 domains and replacing their content with a warning accusing them and their visitors of trafficking in child porn.

People visiting 84,000 domains belonging to mostly individuals, small businesses, and families were redirected to a DHS page accusing them of participating in child pornography.

This is what happens when we circumvent due process. And Obama wants a “kill switch”?

    Over my dead body.

We are living through a second reconstruction which began shortly after WWII when industries started fleeing the rust belt north and moving south. Just as northern industrialists used slavery to stir up resentment against the south to force the south to buy overpriced northern made manufactured goods, the plight of southern blacks was used to punish the south for the union created loss of northern jobs. The civil Rights movement was instigated and financed by rich foundations such as the Ford Foundation, the Communist Party, which saw it as a means to further their cause, and assorted malcontents looking for a cause. Just as unions have outlived their usefullness and have become a burden on society, so have Civil Rights organizatons which, after realizing they had the power, have demanded preferential treatments, oppression of white males, redistribution of wealth, and other actions which have brought our country to it’s knees. The difference between the first Reconstruction and this second one is that powerful Southern politicians managed to make this one apply to the entire country. As in the first reconstruction, unqualified former slaves (minorities) were put in charge (affirmative action) and hoards of carpetbaggers (lobbyists and community organizers) descended on the south (Washington DC) to advise the incompetents (Congress, the President and agency heads) When the first reconstruction was lifted southern states (now the Fed. govt.) owed billions (now trillions)of dollars in bonded debt for projects that were never built and nobody can explain where the money went. It took the South over 100 years to pay off the debt from the first Reconstruction. It will take future generatins longer than that to pay of the debt from this second reconstruction. It’s time to end the lunacy. For over 50 years minorities and under achievers have been pushed to the front of the line and given special treatment. Those who were willing to make the effort have assimilated into mainstream society. It’s time to tell the rest of them that the joy ride is over and from now on they are on ther own.
