Justice!

Published by at 10:01 pm under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

Final Update: Watched the President’s speech and I give it B-. It was rambling and sappy at times. It lost focus as the success of tonight was diluted with grand talk of equality. It was so syrupy in places I almost felt sorry for the teleprompter. And when the President wandered into the “I” did this and “I” did that part early on, it was horrible. He should have stayed with the “we”. And like what President would not make getting Osama Bin Laden priority 1?

In other areas, to balance out the overall speech, the President was right on. He noted how we have NEVER been at war with Islam, just at war with radical Islam. He noted Bin Laden is not a Muslim Leader, but a mass murderer (great line). He recognized the counter terrorism agencies and the special forces that went in and apparently tried to take Bin Laden alive. It was these areas of the speech which gave President Obama the “B” rating. In fact, if he had toned down the sappy-talk I was about to give him an “A”.

In any event – a night of celebration. Watch the liberals be surprised at the intensity of this celebration, and be shocked and awed by the hatred this nation held for this animal. – end update

Osama Bin Laden is dead, and justice is served for the 3,000 victims of his attacks on 9-11, pllus the tens of thousands his bloody butchers killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and all over the world:

Osama bin Laden, hunted as the mastermind behind the worst-ever terrorist attack on U.S. soil, has been killed, sources told ABC News.

Apparently the US has the body, but there is also a news black out so President Obama can bask in some glory. So be it. Bin Laden joins Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Saddam Hussein in the penthouse suite of hell.

Update: My guess is the WH will wait until tomorrow to bask in the limelight. One report claims Bin Laden was killed in Afghanistan or Pakistan:

Details of the death were sparse. He was killed in a military operation in Afghanistan, according to sources, though it was unclear which countries were involved. CNN reported that the al-Qaida leader was killed in a mansion outside Islamabad, the Pakistani capital.

Seems he was the victim of a Predator strike.

Update: Hot Air will have all the breaking news tonight. It is going to be a wonderful new day on Earth tomorrow.

What I have heard so far:

It was a special operations attack on the ground that got him, not a drone strike.

It might have been near Islamabad.

Still waiting for the official drone strike.

  2. crosspatch says:

Oops, still waiting for the official announcement.

  3. kathie says:

Maybe shot with a bullet in Islamabad, Pakistan.

I have a friend that firmly believe that once Osama bin Laden is killed, then the war on terror will officially be over. He seems to think that Osama is the ONLY enemy.

Just wait…you’ll see that he is NOT the only enemy.

It doesn’t matter that it was Bush or Obama in the White House. It’s time that we got him no matter how long it took. Remember how long it took us to fund the unabomber.

Freedom is not free. This was a costly war.

    So…where is Zarwahiri?

  5. kathie says:

Thank you General Betray Us, who said that and seconded the thought?

I’m worried that we need to be on high alert…..I hope this government is capable of protecting this country.

  6. lurker9876 says:

Somebody reported that he was living in a mansion at that time????

  7. WWS says:

IF he was in a mansion outside Islamabad – and that’s a big if – then that means he’s had the protection and patronage of the Pakistani Govm’t all of these years.

Maybe they decided that finally dropping a dime on him was the only to get the Americans to finally leave.

  8. kathie says:

Oh good, Obama did it all by himself. He made it highest priority to get him and he did. He did it. Obama did it. He said he did.

Forget Obama…..God Bless those who fight for us to keep us safe. Men and woman in uniform……we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

  9. lurker9876 says:

Heard parts of Obama’s speech. Seems that he plagiarized Bush’s speech. “We’re not at war against Islam. We’re at war against mass murderers.” blah blah…And he actually closed the speech “one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice. God bless America”

Soon there will be posts dissecting Obama’s speech….

  11. archtop says:

    Excellent news!!!

And I feel the same way now that I did when we bagged Sadaam Hussein (alive)…

  12. kathie says:

    President Bush said…….

    “May 1, 2011

Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001. I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude. This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.”

Hot Air is posting some good updates – possibility that this was a US Special Forces op *Deep* inside Pakistan that the Pakistani’s did NOT know about?

This is sure gonna put some cheese on their crackers for good. And it means we *knew* that the Pakistani Govm’t has been giving him protection – which is why we couldn’t let the Paki’s know about the operation. Looks like they’ve been protecting him all these years.

This is gonna get real interestin’.

  14. lurker9876 says:

    A great response by bush.

Pakistan has always given us problems.

  15. kathie says:

The town where they found and killed him WWS, was a Pakistan military town. How could that be? How much money are we giving these guys? This is bad news…..how are the Pakistani’s going to explain this. There are many in Pakistan who are going to be very angry at us….we need to keep our heads down.

  16. crosspatch says:

Latest I have is that it was in Abbottabad a bit Northeast of Islamabad. The compound was described as being built in 2005, was “eight times larger” than other compounds in the area and was placed in a location that was very defensible.

Remember that bin Laden is an engineer by trade.

Three other male subjects were killed in the raid in addition to bin Laden. No information about those yet.

  17. crosspatch says:

Word is that bin Laden engaged US forces. Other information says one of the other dead was his eldest son which is consistent with earlier information that his son was his chief bodyguard.

  18. Redteam says:

osama wasn’t really an engineer, didn’t finish college, mostly studied religion in college, according to Wiki.

anyhow I’m glad he got what he deserved. A bullet in the head.

Obama taking credit… He found out where he was in August and waited til one week ago to authorize the operation. I guess he got backed into a corner where he had to crap or get off the pot.

Remember this is the same guy that held up the military pay just two weeks ago just for pettiness.

    Ugh…

  19. crosspatch says:

My understanding is that they had fingered the compound in August but it took until this week to get enough evidence that bin Laden was actually physically in there at that specific moment so a mission could be executed.

The LAST thing we would want to do is raid the place when he wasn’t home.

The Hot Air link AJ gives has all the updated info! Those amazing Navy Seals!!! We have the best of the best in our military.
