Obama’s Support Collapses With Voters

Published by at 12:49 pm under 2012 Elections

As I said many times, credibility is a fragile and fleeting resource in politics. Once you lose it, it tends to collapse rapidly, with only a few groupies hanging on as the rest of the voters move on. Obama is now in that kind of complete collapse, which is not surprising after his tone deaf behavior before, during and after the debt ceiling debate. As the left screams at those middle Americans who have decided government is too big, too incompetent and too reckless with our money (a.k.a. the Tea Party movement that still exists, even without the smeared moniker) they have imploded and lost all their political capitol and what sliver of support they may have had after the 2010 elections.

Now Obama is trolling new depths in the Rasmussen poll (which has the President -26% with a strong positive of 19% and a strong negative of 45%) and is also way underwater with the Gallup poll (approve 38% and disapprove 54% for a minus 16%). The difference in the polls is Rasmussen is polling likely voters and Gallup the more benign ‘adult’ population. So both are actually consistent, and this consistency indicates Obama isĀ  now – barring something major – on track to lose big in 2012.

He has no time to earn back the support. Once voters turn their backs they almost never turn back again. And the left only have themselves to blame for this. They are neither as smart as they think they are, nor are Americans as dumb as they wish we were. The over reaching by amateurs produced unsurprising results as we see now, saw in the 2009 elections for governor in NJ and VA, in the MA special election and the 2010 elections. Obama had a slim chance with people to really build a bridge away from his liberal base, but he missed that window.

Now we just count down the time to November 2012 and sift through our options for the next POTUS.

While Bush 43 and the Republicans overspent and pushed for a few expensive policies, they still had some credibility left. In fact, Bush 43 is getting some of it back.

In fact, the longer Reagan is away from the White House, the more appreciative the Americans have towards him. And Reagan got more credibility in spite of the fact that the Democrats still attack him for debt and defense spending. But they have a hard time winning this argument because of the positive economic numbers, tax rate reductions, and positive employment numbers.

In the case of Obama, he lost credibility for good. Much like Carter.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the liberal academic historians will continue to rate Obama as one of the greatest presidents in history.

And not only has Obama lost credibility with us, the MSM also lost it with us. For good.

credibility is about as easy to regain as virginity.

I hope you are all right.
I just wonder when, if ever, the presstitutes are going to realize the magnitude of their malfeasance and treat this abject failure as a human tragedy and not a kING, and when if ever they will give solid American citizens like Sarah Palin, Rick Perry and the Tea Party a small margin of the respect and credit they deserve for stopping the insanity of uncontrolled government redistribution.

    AJ

    That should be -26%

We all knew this would happen back in 2008. The guy obviously was in over his head. He had never accomplished a thing and now probably never will. It is sad that our country has to be nearly destroyed for the electorate to get a clue. I will say that his “reign” is worse than I thought it would be. I just did not have the imagination to think he could or would go as far as he has in ignoring the laws of this country.

I read that the people on Martha’s VIneyard wanted Obama to go home. I don’t know if it is because they wanted the press gone or they are tired of Obama so will record O’Reilly’s show (repeat).

dhunter – seriously? really, you’ve got to know that what you wish will NEVER happen!!!

the “presstitutes” ARE the HEART of the problem! They ARE the enemy! So you ask if the enemy will ever just kind of change their minds and give those who they are working to destroy “respect”???

We will have won the battle NOT when ABC and CBS change their minds – but when ABC, CBS, and NBC no longer exist because no one watches them!

and that day is coming sooner than you may think.

I hear that Zimbabwe Ben is planning QE3.
Carter-Miller are being topped by Obama – Burnake

How can there be even 3 people left that believe than Keynesian Orgies help the economy? Stimulus, $4.5 trillion in deficits, QE1, QE2! Is QE3 going to do something more than create worldwide inflation? Doesn’t this fit Einstein’s definition of insanity?
