Al Qaeda Still A Threat

Published by at 1:21 pm under All General Discussions

With the liberal media and far left obsessed with Impeaching Bush and surrendering in Iraq 3 years after the war is over and as the country is about to establish its permanent democratically elected government, We find it hard to see how the serious folks are trying to fight the Global War On Terror are challenging Al Qaeda – who remains very, very dangerous.

The primary defendant is 30-year-old Ibrahim Mohamed K., who is apparently from Syria. German prosecutors said he was involved in the command of al Qaeda and that he had contact with the organization’s leader, Osama bin Laden.

Ibrahim Mohamed K. came to Germany as an asylum-seeker. He began working in Germany in 2002, raising money and providing “logistical support” for al Qaeda, officials said. With German travel documents, he was able to move freely around Europe. He apparently sought to obtain nuclear materials, but was unsuccessful. Police arrested him in Mainz in January 2005.

Two things worry me. First is this person had found a way to run free for a few years trying to gain access to WMDs. Second – the wife and I were near Mainz during this time period. Sort makes you feel like you walked by a ghost when you realize these people have infiltrated Western societies as much as they have.

The good news is that the Germans found the guy and that they apparently saved some lives in Iraq;

In 2004, Mohamed recruited the students Yasser Abu S. and Ismail Abu S., who are brothers, to be a member of the organization and a supporter, respectively. Yasser Abu S. was apparently scheduled to perform a suicide bombing in Iraq.

Let’s see how they like the slow, life long version of martyrdom as they get to slowly die over a lifetime spent in jail.

Yes. America has enemies. Some of our enemies were even our allies during WW2.

I’m most impressed with FDR because he sat tight for a decade. And, he didn’t let the stuff unraveling in Europe to tie his hands. He even made it clear to Churchill that America was not going to be a patsy. We were NOT going to turn over American troops to foreign leadership for one thing. And, we weren’t going to give the allies back any of their colonies in the Atlantic or the Pacific once we did go to war. Not that the europeans didn’t hold tight to some of their islands. But they had to face reality. Just as Japan got to face it.

Japan did better on this test.

What I notice, by the way, is a FEAR among our enemies. It’s one thing to run the presses against us. They’re not printing counterfeit money. Just their rediculous opinions.

But to actually turn a nuke loose? Something tells me that even iran is running a little bit nervous. In that Bush doesn’t listen to the UN. He let’s them get a lot of mileage, though.

There’s a wonderful story told about the Churchill’s. Maybe, the punchline continues to apply? Anyway, Winston was always notoriously late. And, Clementine was waiting for him on a train platform. The train was already boarded, and ready to leave the station. And, Clementine’s pleas to the conducter, where he held back flagging the train to move, were about to end; when Clementine saw Winston’s carriage, approaching. “Oh, she said to the conducter. Winston likes to give the trains a head start.”

And, that’s the story of democracy. Our enemies have begun to race. While we’re just about approaching the platform.

It’s ain’t bad. It is HOW democracies work.

And, despots always get killed in the end-game. Even hitler went down in defeat. And, stalin? I bet ya somebody stepped on his oxygen line as he lay dying. Sure. Too bad for his long run. Ditto for mao. Double-ditto for castro.

But that’s the nature of the beast. Among all of humanity it takes so long to produce talent.

Maybe, that’s the difference between dustbins, and what we get to remember?

I’m not too concerned that we’re “infiltrated.” It stands that democracy prevails, just like our super-highways. Expect accidents. Expect red lights to still have intersections with accidents in them. That’s just the nature of the beast.

But we’ve got the superhighways. And, they don’t.

One reason we have the word “gyp” in our language, is that its an abbreviation for what gypsies do. Another group that’s got worldwide flight patterns. And, nowhere where they go do they get trusted.

    Russia’s on its last legs.

China’s stock with central government. And, they sit on top of a bubble economy. Lots of man-made things fail in the end. And, russia went down the toilet all by itself. Without anything left among its population to grow anything better.

And, with that we have to take notice. In Iraq every opportunity has been given to grow themselves out of their despotic hole. But they are arabs. So many of them aren’t capable of leadership. So many of them dispair into their rumors where they repeat and blame America and Israel.

Keep getting the wrongs answers and you just keep failing the test.

Life’s without Cliff Notes. And, life’s much better for individuals who don’t get snookered. Go ask the gypsy.
