Hayden To Be Confirmed, Dems Surrender

Published by at 4:26 pm under All General Discussions

It’s over folks. The Dems ran from the fight again. Gen Hayden will be the next Director of the CIA:

The Senate Intelligence Committee voted 12 to 3 today to recommend that the full Senate confirm Michael V. Hayden, an architect of the National Security Agency’s post-9/11 strategy of wiretapping the overseas telephone conversations of Americans without wiretaps, as director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

The broad margin suggested that Hayden should have no difficulty winning confirmation in a Senate floor vote, which Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) said would come before the Memorial Day recess.

Now we can watch the liberals implode with anger as their ‘leaders’ led another retreat.

Addendum:  Too funny – DU in the DUmps

This is fantastic news. What class Senator Roberts has to not announce those who voted against. Not to worry though, they have already begun to “out” themselves.

If I believed their no vote was truly the direction of their conscience, I would applaud that, however, we know it is politics as usual for these folks.

Nice job Senator Roberts for not allowing this hearing to get out of hand. About time we see one like that.

I knew they wouldnt dare try and stop this appointment.

    Dear Bigdog,

I am surprised you are happy. Curt Weldon totally trashed Stephen Kappes, whom Hayden is bringing in as #2.

I am happy about all of this.
