More Insanity From The Leftward Fringes
When bombastic egotists get media play, they will do anything to keep the spotlight on them – including a call to assissinate their elected leader it would seem:
The Respect MP George Galloway has said it would be morally justified for a suicide bomber to murder Tony Blair.
In an interview with GQ magazine, the reporter asked him: “Would the assassination of, say, Tony Blair by a suicide bomber – if there were no other casualties – be justified as revenge for the war on Iraq?”
Mr Galloway replied: “Yes, it would be morally justified. I am not calling for it – but if it happened it would be of a wholly different moral order to the events of 7/7. It would be entirely logical and explicable. And morally equivalent to ordering the deaths of thousands of innocent people in Iraq – as Blair did.”
Galloway is a git. But now a dangerous git. He claims killing Blair as justified as voting against him if you differ with his policies. Galloway should be much more responsible when speaking and understand there are people out there who will take a lead from his words and take actions.
One thing I can say is the out of control, mindless, emotion driven politics of the day are out of hand. People are screaming at each other over policies that have been hugely successful, but imperfect. People are lashing out in anger with retribution and revenge top priorities. The left is angered from being out of power and the right is angry their power is not all controlling.
Well, hopefully there are enough of us who still see things in less emotional and more strategic ways, who can forge some path forward between these extremes. Because when threats of violence are passed back and forth, it is only a matter of time that some idiot acts and then the real fighting begins. The only question becomes who fights and who doesn’t.
I still say America is starving for a Kadima movement. Some poltiical movement away from the emotional partisan edges. A movement that brings back some semblence of professional seriousness to politics.
Then there’s this:
In an interview with GQ magazine, the reporter asked him: “Would the assassination of, say, Tony Blair by a suicide bomber – if there were no other casualties – be justified as revenge for the war on Iraq?â€
Just what the hell kind of sick and twisted question is that for a reporter to ask? IMHO the reporter is in the same sewer as Galloway.
Carol
While I agree wholeheartedly, I continue to hope that SOME leadership will develop within the Republican party to provide the direction for this movement, rather than the thought of a new party and the chaos that would follow for several cycles.
George Galloway Has Lost It…
When I first read the headline, I assumed they were taking liberties with some of his words to perhaps twist them a bit. I was wrong:The Respect MP George Galloway has said it would be morally justified for a suicide…
Bush Admits Mistakes…Or Did He?…
Bush never pretends to be anything he isn’t. He has fought a war on two fronts, had to put up with the constant lies and misinformation from the press, fight a battle with our Congress who would rather hold hands with the minority party, fight a batt…
Galloway is a loon, a dangerous loon. And yes, people need to realize that words can have consequences.
