America Wants NY Times Head On A Platter
It seems the American people are not happy the NY Times has decided to usurp their duly elected government and attempt to stop our war on terror by exposing our programs in the hope they become impotent. It seems the American people are not going to run to the left with adulation and thanks for stopping the war on terror and for protecting those poor terrorists’ dignity. In fact, it seems the American people want heads to roll, and the NY Times heads especially [h/t Clarice Feldman at American Thinker]:
Most Americans support the government program to track possible terrorist funding, one of the few areas where majorities of both parties agree. In addition, the public thinks people who leak classified information — as well as news organizations that publish it — should face criminal charges. On Iraq, more than half want U.S. troops to stay and finish the job.
…
The poll shows there is strong support for the Treasury Department program tracking financial transactions in search of terrorist funding. Seven of 10 Americans support the program, including majorities of Republicans (83 percent), independents (67 percent) and Democrats (58 percent). The Bush administration asked the New York Times not to publish information about the secret program, but the newspaper went ahead because it felt it was in the public interest to do so. By publishing the story, a 60 percent majority thinks the Times did more to help terrorist groups than the public (27 percent).
More Americans blame government employees for leaking the classified info (51 percent) than the media for reporting it (28 percent).
Furthermore, almost all (87 percent) think the employees who leaked should face criminal charges and two-thirds think the news organizations should. Even so, only 43 percent are willing to call what the media did treason, and almost as many think the organizations that published the information were operating for the public good (37 percent).
I posted earlier on how the combination of Congressional hearings and charges for knowingly leaking classified information would be an acceptable response to the NY Times. But what is stunning is how badly the left is playing this. At a time when the left is all excited about impeaching Bush for war crimes against terrorists due to the Hamdan decision, the American people are ready to punish anyone who helps the terrorists and want to see Iraq through to the end. The left is totally out of sync from mainstream America and is apparently running full out in the opposite direction. Too bad for the Democrats. At a time Americans are ready to punish the leakers who are helping the terrorists, liberals are ready to impeach Bush for fighting the terrorists.
For all those who care what happens to this country…YOU MUST SEE THIS:

Watch and remember.

They really stepped in it this time.
Powerline had an excellent view on this topic today, here is the relevant quote from an security officer in Israel
Every three months we try to develop an additional capability. The [terrorists] are behaving in a certain way? How do we need to grapple with that? But I can’t go into details. This war is so complex. They are always trying to figure out what we’re doing; they adapt to it. I would love to be able to tell the people of Israel what we are doing new to protect them. They’d be proud to hear it. But the moment I make something public, the other side will adapt. So telling the public actually harms my efforts to protect the public.
Too bad for the Democrats. At a time Americans are ready to punish the leakers who are helping the terrorists, liberals are ready to impeach Bush for fighting the terrorists.
Can someone explain to me how anyone can believe that this poor emulation of the Kos kids can build a tidal wave of support for their agenda in the midterm elections???? In fact any election???
They do these kind of things and can’t understand or rationalize why they go down in defeat.
I ask you, would any of you invite those of such views to your next party at your house? Would you invite them over for the 4th of July BBQ to throw a cold damper on the affair?
I despise those who’s mantra is “I can’t do it, it’s too hard”
