Democrats Unprepared For November

Published by at 11:52 pm under 2006 Elections,All General Discussions

Not only do Democrats lack a unifying and leading message, not only have they become the antithesis of a strong America leading the world to a better future, not only have the Democrats become the party of “cut and run” and “let’s Impeach Bush”, they don’t even have their act together to get out the vote (what little they have) this November:

Many Democrats said that despite a favorable political climate and record-setting fundraising, the campaign to recapture the House and Senate could fall short if the organizational problems persist. “What the party really needs is to get serious about local, volunteer-based” operations, said Jack Corrigan, a longtime Democratic operative. “The last-minute, throw-money-at-it approach . . . does not really solve the fundamental failure to organize that is there. The DNC is moving in the right direction, but needs to do more, fast,” he said.

Republicans are far more united in their approach, building on what both sides said worked well in 2002 and 2004. They are routing all turnout efforts through the Republican National Committee, which had $45 million in the bank — four times as much as the DNC — as of June 30.

To Democrats this is all mechanical, not inspirational. To them it is all message packaging, not sincere ideas and a real desire to change things for the better. For Democrats it is about polls and message testing and get out the vote. Vision and conviction and standing tall through the tough times never occurs to them. Fighting through to the end of a commitment is America. It is a concept completely foreign to the left. That is why they have no plan to get out the vote. You need a message to get voters to the polls – not phone banks and leaflets.

Reminds me of that picture Drufge posted yesterday showing Kerry at an outdoor rally in Iowa. There were only a handful of people there. Rush has the picture.

The WSJ had an informative article last night about the KosKids Nutroots/MoveOn alliance vs the DLC.

Copywriting a new term here to define that far left mashup

    The Axis of Error

Individual or groups collectively will hereafter be referred to as

    Errorists.

    Merlin,

Too damn funny. So now they are Errorcrats? The Err-wing of America? To Err is Democrat, to forgive is a Con?

  4. The Democratic Party used to believe in things. Sadly you are absolutely right AJ and our country is worse off for it.

I keep wondering when the party will hit bottom and they keep lowering the bar.

  5. MerlinOS2 says:

Actually AJ the article specifically how power members of the congress suggested that the Kos/moveon group not start up the Lamont support v Liberman which was a solid demo seat.

I intended the label to apply to this specific far left coalition, but perhaps you have the better view and it may apply.

The dems have thier internal conflicts between the DLC and the radical left and the Hillary branch.

Howard Dean does not have universal support.

All in all, the dems are speaking with many varied voices, they are not a party of unity by any stretch of the imagination.

Glad I was able to give you a chuckle.

We all could use a few of those.

Impeach Bush yourself! This is much more than just a petition.

There’s a little known and rarely used clause of the in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.

That’s where we come in. In addition to the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.

You can initiate the impeachment process yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in.

More information on the precedent for submitting an impeachment
memorial, and the House Rules on this procedure, can also be found at
    the above address.

If you have any doubts that Bush has committed crimes warranting
    impeachment, read this page: http://ImpeachForPeace.org/evidence/

If you’re concerned that impeachment might not be the best strategy
at this point, read the bottom of this page: http://ImpeachForPeace.org
