Lefties In A Furor Over ABC 9-11 Documentary

Published by at 2:14 pm under All General Discussions

I noted some comments about the upcoming ABC documentary at JOM, which led me to NRO, which led me to this Frontpage article. If this snippet is just a taste of what’s to come, then the left should be shaking in their collective boots:

They’re on the verge of capturing Bin Laden, but they need final approval from the Clinton administration in order to go ahead. They phone Clinton, but he and his senior staff refuse to give authorization for the capture of Bin Laden, for fear of political fall-out if the mission should go wrong and civilians are harmed. National Security Adviser Sandy Berger in essence tells the team in Afghanistan that if they want to capture Bin Laden, they’ll have to go ahead and do it on their own without any official authorization. That way, their necks will be on the line – and not his. The astonished CIA agent on the ground in Afghanistan repeatedly asks Berger if this is really what the administration wants. Berger refuses to answer, and then finally just hangs up on the agent.

Well, now maybe we know what Sandy Burglar shoved down his pants when he stole classified information from the National Archives, shredding the documents with scissors in his office prior to his testimony to the 9-11 commission. Check out the Trailor here. Michael Barone’s take here.

Sandy is a true scumbag, and I am sure did many horrible things.

This 9/11 documentary is deeply needed. With 35% of even Americans believing this was somehow an inside job… and “based on real life” movies like “Syriana” and “Farenheit 9/11” claiming to be fact but entirely wild, leftist fiction… we really, deeply need films like this one.

I hope the Left having problems have conniption fits that cause them bodily harm. They have to suffer our truths… we have to suffer their incredible lies.

Next, someone should do a docudrama about how the Clinton Administration let Rwanda happen.

The left will probably has a fit because the 9/11 film is being shown at all. The leftist media will not show anything about 9/11, the bodies falling in the sky and the buildings collapsing. They say it is to gruesome for us to see. They hope we will forget. They know this film will remind a forgetful US what actually happened. I think that is the real problem. Our memories are too short for our own good.

We have had many years of dem obstructionism as their primary tactic.

We are seeing now some to the major long term major talking points spining down in a death spiral, aka the Plame affair. I have to believe they were even suprised how much mileage they got out of it before it self destructed.

We are heading into midterms and the dems are still without a real agenda. All I hear is general statements like “A New Direction” with a total absence of specifics.

I rate this right up there with tv commercials touting something as being “Clean” or the much overused “Fresh”.

The only reason they can get away with such broad generalizations is that so many of those who actually vote do so in such an uniformed manner.

The number of voters who actually cast ballots, not those who are registered and choose not to vote, and additionally those who are not even registered to vote, and who are reasonably informed thru their own efforts to make an informed, competent and reasoned choice is a slim minority.

Too many vote in block voting programs for which they have marching orders but little in the order of understanding the impacts of what they are voting for.

When you look at figures of how few eligible to register people actually do, and then compound that with voter turnout percentages, you see that in elections generally the total vote count difference that determines the winner is a very small percentage of the total elibible voter base.

Also, except for states with ongoing large population shifts, historic voter breakdowns rarely change by more than a few percentage points from historic distributions, because in general the active voter belief systems and profile is not a fit of whimsy.

Sometimes it amazes me that they system still works. Even major events like 9/11 or even Pearl Harbor can be historically shown to not effect in a major way things like voter registration or participation rates over the long term. Too many have opted out of the system or consider it an undue burden or something they are not cool with since they have more pressing issues in their lives.

When you add that up with special interest and lobbiest influence having the well deserved reputation of overriding the wishes of that minimal informed electorate and you say sometimes to yourself, wow how did we get here and is there any way to heal this mess.

We can only hope that excesses will be brought to the fore and then adjusted for, and maybe the stuff will still work.

Then you have the situation of activist special interests using the legal system to game the system with the aide of activist judges and it even more stirs the pot of frustration stew.

Those who wish to nurture the system to a new and different path can have success over the medium and long term, but as they progressively get too far ahead of the curve, they trim their actual support base down and the balance of the voters act like a drag chute to put a brake on the trend. Yes our country evolves, but it cannot proceed at a faster pace than the general concensus of reality. Get too far ahead and you deminish you clout.

Understand from Rush that Clinton is so upset that Clinton plans on calling the CEO of Disney. Here is a cut from Rush’s website:

“Richard Ben-Veniste (who was at the screening) went up in Cyrus’s face and told him it was disgusting. This film was disgusting.

It caused all kinds of havoc and that led to the creation of efforts to try to get this program banned, put pressure on ABC to get it canceled and not run and so forth.

It also had a lot of people in the room that loved it. There were many people, Michael Barone saw it, a lot of people were in the screening there and loved it.

Here is what is happening today. Bill Clinton himself is going to call Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, and demand or ask that this mini-series, The Path to 9/11, be reedited and recut …”

On calling for edits from the Left:

These guys are just another totalitarian sect, by my book. If the Left or Neo-Nazis or Islamists have their way… global totalitarianism. That is the core of what their ideaology reaches for. That is what their founders imagined. That is what they imagine. The surface of these groups are different, because they are, at core, about lying… but it is all the same. Just different lies.

Therefore, it is second nature to them to seek to edit the truth. They just assume they have the right to propagandize. They assume the media is the servent to their control. At hearts, they are all with the same blood, the blood of tyranny.

They are all for free speech — as long as it is their own speech. It is the truth they want banned.

They already have this ban in so many countries, it is too bad they seek to bring it here, as well.
