Democrats Are Soooo Confused.

Published by at 6:30 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

OK folks, the more the Democrats talk the more confused the look (and they are surely really confused). We know the mantra is get out of Iraq ASAP. John Kerry memorialized 9-11 today with a panicky, doom and gloom assessment that America needs to turn tail now, as soon as possible. And now comes the Dem Senate candidate in Ohio with this gem of an observation:

Congressman Sherrod Brown of Ohio said the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq has made the country “a training ground for terrorists and a recruiting tool for the leaders of al-Qaida.” He said the war on terror should be redirected to end what he calls the “open-ended commitment in Iraq” and refocus military efforts on destroying al-Qaida.

So Iraq is infested with terrorists and is a training ground for them (bad training I would say, since they continue to get annihilated). This is the problem and the Democrat answer is leave???? Am I missing something here? Brown is positive the place is swarming with Al Qaeda terrorists. It is their premier training ground. So his answer is let them have it???? Let them have Iraq and train up all they want and get hold of Saddam’s WMD technology (that he has, forget the stockpiles)? Give them unlimited revenues with Iraq oil? This is the Democrat Plan to make us safer??? Oh my lord. And these idiots can’t understand why the country scores them so low on national security? We really don’t want people this dumb running the country. We really don’t.

Yes, AJ. Isn’t this astounding? This and the party that ‘champions’ free speech pulling out all stops to squelch it? Although I’m still angry Republicans aren’t on the stump triumphing some of their accomplishments, it’s becoming clear that they too are lazy, stupid and becoming ‘comfortable’ with power and the corruption it brings. Maybe I need to rethink them actually ‘speaking’. Just let the Dems continue to bury themselves…..We really need a third party….

Let me get this straight … Iraq is teeming with al Qaeda and their recruiting ground so we should leave Iraq and go somewhere else so we can focus on al Qaeda? :: rolling eyes and shaking head ::

We just passed the 40th anniversary of StarTrek , yeah were all getting old, and the dems wish us to put our phasers on stun.

Personally I prefer Photon Torpedos but what do I know.

A third party is not the optimum solution, revitalization of those we have is more productive.

My concept of the worst downside possible is not the dems gaining control, it is the reps holding control and interpreting that as the permission to maintain the status quo.

Most of the “problem children” are not even up for this election cycle and they can only hope for life being a short attention span theater!

The Dems can’t get past bin Laden. If only he were dead all would be well, we could go home, institute social medicine, pay for college tuition for all etc. Really they are saying we don’t need a military, you see the Europeans have a great system, no military, and tons of vacation time. It’s not that they don’t support the military, they don’t want one at all. If only we could get back to the domestic program and forget about this terror thing.

I thought about this myself. I wondered why it was the Democrats were doing their gazillionth investigation to prove to us that Bush lied about AlQaida being in Iraq, because after all that would justify the war. But they AlQaida is there now and rather than justifying the war, it justifies running away.

I was just reminded of a show ABC did in 1999 all about Saddam and Osama and how tight they were. Let’s see who was the president back then? And no, so far as I know Levin was not on the show telling America what a load a crap it was. Nope, he saved that.

The dems are pushing Bin Laden, with amazingly bad timing considering the path to 9/11 kerrfuffle.

Historically oposition parties have there best chance in outyear 2nd term midterm elections.

The dems have pulled out all the stops. They are like stock car racers skipping the last pit stop for new tires because they want to roll the dice.

Statistically this is their best chance.

However if they can’t punch thru and do another crash and burn, it will have long lasting ramifications.

They have pushed the envelope so much, the middle has to be shaking their heads. Desperation manifests itself in many forms.

Their pronounciations of their new direction agenada are so vague that they would make the “I wan’t to change the world” Miss America pagent question sessions sound like an intelligent debate.

They have given it there all, they have tried to inject nitrosoxide to get their vehicle in orbit. However they are speaking with so many tounges to please so many agendas.

The only thing going for them is the historical low turnouts for this type of election. Heck we just had 17% turnout for a primary involving a governor’s race where I live. They are hoping for enraging enough to jump the smaller gap compared to on year elections.

If they can’t deliver with all the plusses, they are in a world of you know what.

Merlin–well said, but I hate it when the Dems attack America by way of Bush. I love this country. I may be very naive, but when I saw the President in the Oval office after 911, so hurt after the attacks on this country, holding back the tears, as if someone had attacked his own family, I truly believe he would pull out all stops to protect this country. If this government makes mistakes, I am willing to forgive, because I believe most are trying to do their best. With so many people mobilised to protect us some are going to be dishonourable. What the Dems are doing to me is unforgivable. Power trumps everything for the Dems and that is unpatriotic.

The dems have put out all their “countermeasures” to deflate republican progress over these oh so many years. They have sniped and snarked and chipped away with a frantic abandon. They have presented no reasonable and thougtfull alternative, just generalized platitudes that signify next to nothing.

They have become our countrie’s excess baggage, no matter how much they wish to position themselves as the alternative savior of sanity.

Some may buy into it, that is their choice.

I don’t subscribe to nebulous solutions to non problems, I look for positive fixes to that which is wrong. Somehow I think I support the more reasonable path.

These guys, the Dems, do not understand security. They are the hippy party. They know it. We know it. Everybody knows this.

Honestly, the whole concept of “fighting terrorists” or “do not do what terrorists want you to do” is completely beyond their comprehension. How many conversations have I had with lefties or guys left of center where I would have to explain this? They do not get it… yet it is schoolyard bully stuff.

A lot of this stuff is deception. Everybody knows these guys are patriots. They hate the country. Come on. America, in their eyes, is the bane of civilization… the source of every single problem ever. By comparison the Nazis, Communists, Islamists and all others are saints — according to the book of the Left.

I wish I could say “we are ready” as a people. I hope so. I do not think we are. I do not think we yet understand what we are facing here. I do not think we are willing to face it yet. Maybe after a nuke or another terrorist attack… but not yet.

Already, the enemy sees that a large portion of our country wants to do anything anyone says who threatens them with violence. That enemy is not just the Islamo-Fascist – though they are the most adapted to that scenario – but anyone willing and able to use extreme violence who wants them to do something.

So we have already lost. We are already a great target. Terrorism will work on the Democrats.

Pulling from Iraq is a large part of this sign. They say, “save our boys” and other such lies… come on. They know it, we know it. They are cowards. They see us confronting The Enemy – the Islamo-Fascist – and it terrifies them. But, it also hurts them. Because they identify with the Islamo-Fascist. The two are really not so different, not at all.

You can not both love America and hate America. The Left and the Islamists hate us. Because of what we stand for.

I have tried to figure out the dems gameplan since they are obviously more appealing to the extreme left now than any time in their history that I can see.

To me the only way this calculus can work is that they have made the choice to only appeal to the most radical left and are so desperate that are even willing to throw moderate dems under the bus.

They have to be thinking that there are enough radical lefties that will vote to carry the day in small turnout elections.

I know a lot of moderate lifelong dems who are ready to spit they are so mad at their own party.

The concept is get power back first no matter what it takes, and then sucker the moderates back with porkbarrel spending and leftist legislation.

  14. MerlinOS2 says:

As I see the dems are crudly split into 3 groups

    1) radical left (consisting of many subgroups , but voter active)

    2) locked in sure thing supporters (only require a bit of stroking, but their turnout can be reliably forcast)

    3) moderates and independents who by nature of being in the middle are most likely to sit out off year elections by historical standards.

So to win the dems are choosing to totally go with group 1, throwing small change to group 2 and some crumbs to group 3.

Any crumbs to group 3 dents their agenda with group 1

Group 1 can live with life support to group 2 as a necessary evil

To prevail, group 1 has to be so insensed to carry the day in an off year election, and the perception is that even neglect of group 3 will only result in lower participation of an already disposable group.

Increased group 1 voting has to overide the losses of group 3 to make this work, but it seems to be the chosen plan of attack.

  15. Mark_for_Senate says:

I remember the time when the election was over, both parties worked together for what ‘most’ thought was ‘good for America’. The Dems have totally eliminated that possibility. They now look at the ‘winner’ as their enemy. ANY winner as their enemy. As long as they carry that view, they will only be ‘happy’ if all Americans lose. Then they will beat their chests laughing and celebrating pointing at who they think ’caused’ it all. Unfortunately, it will be too late for America when they realize they’re looking into the mirror. It is extremely important this November that the certifiably paranoid delusional pychopaths do not gain any ground. I can handle the mid-November crying and whining about cheating, and ‘how can this be?’, the polls said… etc. In fact, I’m looking forward to it. The 5 year-old maturity is so predictable. I find it amazing how they fail to figure that the platform of hate, doom and gloom isn’t that popular. Meanwhile, they are making 30 to 40% of the population believe they are miserable and America sucks. You ain’t seen nothing yet! Just look at New Orleans without BDS goggles, and see what 60 years of democrat governance yields. I don’t think I would call that paradise.
