Time To Meet Justice

Published by at 8:09 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

We are going to fry try some terrorists finally! After five years we get a chance to bring those animals who decided to use our civilian airplanes as their weapons to attack innocent people on 9-11 to justice . The idea we had to go through so much wrangling to try these murderers without exposing our defenses to their comrades (who are still out there planning the next 9-11) is a sad sign that the suicidal mindset that allowed 9-11 to happen still permeates our culture. The anti-government delusions fostered in the 70’s still doesn’t allow us to comfortably empower our nation to protect us. We will hand our police and military assault weapons capable of mowing down crowds of people in an instant, but we cannot seem to allow them to monitor terrorists as they infiltrate our shores with one goal in mind – killing as many of us as possible as they die themselves. The fact we have people like Joe and Valerie Wilson (who have leaked more about Valerie’s classified activities than Aldridge Ames ever did) and the NSA leakers and the SWIFT leakers and CIA Prison leakers – all leftwing partisans who have leaked for political gain – doesn’t engender much trust in the men and women now charged with our protections. But we still need to fight this war and we still need to realize these miscreant are the exception – not the rule.

And now, thanks to some political will by Bush and Congress (take note Pres Clinton, this is how you OVERCOME bureaucratic obstacles) we will have the masterminds of 9-11 on trial for their heinous crimes. This is a moment to rejoice – we will be trying some terrorists soon!

Update: Whoohoo! It’s a twofer! Not only do we get to try us some terrorists, we get to see the NY Times steaming and stewing and caterwalling (they have no idea what this last one means of course) about the injustice of bringing justice to the terrorists. This bill must be something really good to have the NY Times sputter this out:

Here’s what happens when this irresponsible Congress railroads a profoundly important bill to serve the mindless politics of a midterm election: The Bush administration uses Republicans’ fear of losing their majority to push through ghastly ideas about antiterrorism that will make American troops less safe and do lasting damage to our 217-year-old nation of laws — while actually doing nothing to protect the nation from terrorists.

Riiiigght! Being able to use aggressive interrogation techniques – proven to have exposed active terrorist acts – will not protect America. And of course trying terrorists in a manner that protects our intelligence capabilities and methods will not protect Americanns. And trying (and later executing) terrorists, as well as rounding them up based on the information we get from the interrogations, will not do a thing to reduce the threat our troops face. The Times are having and old fashion emotional breakdown and are now just babbling incoherently.

Republicans say Congress must act right now to create procedures for charging and trying terrorists — because the men accused of plotting the 9/11 attacks are available for trial. That’s pure propaganda. Those men could have been tried and convicted long ago, but President Bush chose not to. He held them in illegal detention, had them questioned in ways that will make real trials very hard, and invented a transparently illegal system of kangaroo courts to convict them.

Got that? The Evil Bush asked these animals to tell us where the other attacks where coming from. The Times thinks they should have been in court under a gag order from their lawyers! Once again the NY Times shows were its loyalties lie. If Bush succeeds and America is protected and terrorists are brought to justice the left loses. And they cannot lose – no matter what is costs Ameriica. Well, it is time to free the Jack Bauers and let them get to work on some terrorists and their sympathizers.

I wonder how many more subscribers they lost over this piece, heh.

Another point is that they were only trying to get info on other/pending attacks, they already had enough on these guys to fry them, they weren’t doing the confessional thingy.

“steaming and stewing and caterwalling” indeed!! Did anyone catch a piece of the hearings where the likes of Dennis Kucinich were jumping up and down (literally) in mock outrage? There is something profoundly wrong with that man and his perverted ideas of a MORAL America. This is the same guy who, if elected the President of the United States, would immediately set out to destroy all we have accomplished in this war and instead create something called “The Department of Peace”. Don’t expect people like this to suddenly grow a pair and “defend” this country…they have already sold out.

    Sigh.

Who ever the next President is is going to be very happy with the work that this president has done for this country. This war is going to go on for a long time. If only the Dems could separate civil law from military law in their little heads.

As I read this, Specter is winning battle for habeous corpus rights for terrorists–with help so far from Chaffee, Sununu, Hagel.
Whoa! Final vote was 51-48 AGAINST Specter. We finally got something positive from Graham!

What is this habeous corpus rights for the terrorists that A. Specter tried to promote?

It sickens me to see that the democrats tried to push for the civil liberties for non-US citizens, especially these terrorists. By the same token, it sickens me to see that the criminals have more rights than a typical US citizen.

    AZ,

Three VOTES?????? This is madness!!! If we can’t get Congress to vote en mass to bury that piece of crap notion of Specter’s, how in the hell are we to feel confident that the midterm elections will not follow suit. That was WAY TOO CLOSE for my comfort. Folks, we are in for another nail-biting, gut-wrenching, all-night election vigil! Just saying.

Rockefeller’s amendment currently on the floor is worse. He is calling for an UNCLASSIFIED quarterly report to the full intelligence committees giving a description of the status of each detainee to include specific interrogation methods, the effectiveness of each, change of status, including rendition, other jurisdictional changes, more…
Sheer madness and time wasting to delay passage of detainee bill–especially if changes can be made to send back to House!
Chief time waster Byrd on now–got to go now so I can better understand our constitution (sarcasm off).

JHC!!! Is she nuts? A little too much Botox there honey. Skin stretched a little too tight? When a Dem starts quoting the Bible, you know we’re all fubared!

Go back to the bay-area Funhouse, Nancy! Get this STRAIGHT…NO ONE NEEDS YOU TO HELP THEM LIVE THEIR LIFE! Stay out of my checkbook, my medical care, my classroom, my SECURITY, and most of all my LIFE!!! If you want to ruin California, go right the eff ahead!!!

    UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  13. Most Democrats Voted Against the Detainee/Terrorist Interrogation Bill…

Things are progressing. We’re now a lot closer to being able to continue pressuring terrorists into giving us information on upcoming terrorist attacks so civilian (that would include us regular Americans) lives can be saved. The terrorist detainee bi…

The most ridiculous aspect of all this is that the German POWs we had did not get this many rights and they were real soldiers.

Once upon a time, about a generation ago, these guys would have just been locked up forever or shot and I doubt if the NYT would have given a damn, but now it is the end of the world.

  15. Barbara says:

I still say congress in infringing on the executive power. Congress has nothing to say about military matters. The founders were very clear on this.

BDS is rampant in Washington. The dems are on record as being for the terrorists. They have raised the mantra of civil rights…whether they are terrorists or not. But this is the senate which wants to give illegal immagrants more freebies regarding income tax than they are willing to give actual citizens.

Mind was wandering and had to read that part twice. I thought you were calling out the ones that have such strong beliefs that their morals now force them to write a Bill of Rights for Terrorists.

I am afraid we will gloss over or forget the names of those that have fought…..fought tooth and nail for the Terrorist’s Bill of Rights. If I hear them say one more time, it is to protect our troops (from the President?), and allow our good friends and international courts to determine our trust…..? Just remember their names. Also remember they took the ‘sail’ out of a successful campaign that would have benefited all Americans on several levels.

Bill Clinton told the Labour conference to get into ubuntu. Eh? Ubuntu. That was what Bill Clinton told the Labour party conference it needed to remember this week. “Society is important because of Ubuntu.”

But what is it? Left-leaning sudoku? U2’s latest album? Fish-friendly sushi?

No, it’s a word describing an African worldview, which translates as “I am because you are,” and which means that individuals need other people to be fulfilled.

The former president, husky-voiced and down-home with the delegates, gave it a folksy flavour, describing it in terms of needing to be around others to enjoy being ourselves.

“If we were the most beautiful, the most intelligent, the most wealthy, the most powerful person – and then found all of a sudden that we were alone on the planet, it wouldn’t amount to a hill of beans,” said Mr Clinton.

I’ve got news for you. The world already hates us. People always hate other people who have more than they do. The always resent the people who help them. Nothing we do or say will change that. Most of the world is jealous of our prosperity and would bring us down if they could. It is a pity the democrats feel the same way.
