Even Venezuela Is Sick Of Chavez

Published by at 7:00 pm under All General Discussions

It seems that even Venezuela has had it with South America’s hyper paranoid Mighty-Mouth as thousands demonstrate in opposition. Obviously they realize aligning against the US really can impact your economic opportunities in “the Americas”. Duh!

“Mr. Chavez still enjoys a clear lead in opinion polls”….

Bush, however , enjoys all of 33% approval rate in the
    real non-Strata-phile America.

Aside from the Fact that you ignore polls (I hate all pols except an election) to the contrary , do you still beat your dog, wife, brother, parent,,,,,,,,?

Yeah Hitler and Mussolini were pretty popular. Guess we fought the wrong war then too.

    Ken,

    What is wrong with you?

Do you want to live in a world where you are killed for your religious beliefs, where if you speak out against your government you are thrown in jail for many years? Where you are stuck with the same dictator for decades because are not allowed to have free and fair elections? Do you want to have to give up your freedoms, such as your freedom of speech that is normally filled with hatred, be forced to convert to Islam, pray to allah or beheaded? Is that the type of world you want to live in?

If so, Ken I do not think you would last five minutes becasue you are quick to open your mouth and complain about everything. If that is the type of world you want to live in Ken, since you have a rabid mouth you would be thrown in prison by a dictator for a very long time and you may die there for voicing your opinions. Since you enjoy being argumentative about everything and can not keep your hatred opinion to yourself, you would most likely be beheaded. If the later is your fate for the world you want to live in, I for one hope the blade that severs your head by some radical muslim is sharp, so your suffering is short.

I guess, you have never looked past the end of your nose to see what may happen if we retreat from the WOT and lose it because of people like yourself.

I am old enough to know too that your hatred for GW, one of our gratest presidents, is how you look at and react to most people you meet everyday. Your a hateful cynical person. There is more to life than this and I hope you are able to enjoy it someday.

Saddam had near 100% approval ratings. Even the people he tortured were allowed to vote “for” him. They loved him.

    All,

Off topic. North Korea just did their nuke test. Of course the MAIN story on ABCNEWS.com was Foley.

  8. Snapple says:

    Oh, that’s really too bad.

They were using the election as cover.

Strata = “Spout Tendentious Rationalizations Against The Actual”

Like that Limerick? Look, Strata says Venezuala is sick of Chavez,
as he posts a BBC story that says Chavez leads his opponent in the polls. I point it out. Escapism isn’t positive and realism isn’t negative.

Roonent1 doesn’t like realism either, which in this case might
just be, Bush’s imperialism AIDS Chavez’ popularity in
    Venezuala!

FE omits mention that Saddam during most of his rule was
a US ally of sorts and we helped him against Iran. I’m sure FE can post documented complaints he made about this through the period,however..But kudos for not mentioning France!

  10. Ken says:

and speaking of Saddam Hussein, Jay Rockefeller had it right.

    Ken,

What is your view of what America ‘should’ look like? What is your idea of American foreign policy? Tell us what America would look like on the farm, the factories, the cities. Which foreign governments deserve our friendship and charity? Which do not? How are taxes levied in America. Please give us an example of how your idea of a proper American government would respond to nations like Iran, N.Korea, and Venezula. Open our eyes.

The reason Jay Rockefeller “had it right” because it made and would have made him more money had Saddam stayed in the office. It was for his own personal gratification and no one else’s. He is in favor of corruption as long as it makes him more money.

  13. lurker9876 says:

Jay Rockefeller doesn’t care whether it’s the right thing to do for our own country whether Saddam is in the office or not.

  14. lurker9876 says:

Chavez is looking to extend his presidential term to 30 years. Would you want to live under Chavez for 30 years?

  15. Alexa83 says:

o.k about the polls if u actually try to find some information outside ur sources in the U.S.A , one u will see that people in Venezuela , the majority of them are against Chavez , and it’s not because the problems or things he had said ….those things are only prove of why they had been trying to take him out of power for so long ….is becasue they want a better and a real goverment , is becasue the majority of people there know what is best for their country wihtout even thinking about the things he has said to other countries … people are sick of him there , and that has been going on there for a few years , and before u say the poll help him i’m telling u look in other sources , because actually the real ones say that he is not the favorite … that Rosales is

What has been Chavez point? Has he accused the US of wanting to assassinate him and take over his county to keep himself in the news. I was astonished when he first came out with this junk. Why in the world would we want to take over a two bit country in South America?
And don’t say for oil. We were and are still buying oil from Venzuala. And it would cost a lost less to buy the oil than to take over the country. Not even mentioning all the trouble this would cause with the rest of the world. He seems intent on becoming allies with all of America’s enemies. If the country of Venzuala is sick of Chavez, they are not alone. I am sick and tired of hearing anything about this lunatic.

This is off topic but I saw where Mexico intends to take the fence bill to the UN. Is this not a scream?

  17. For Enforcement says:

    Ken, what?
You said:”I’m sure FE can post documented complaints he made about this through the period,”

I’m sure someone as astute as you has already looked them up and read them so I won’t bother you with reprints.

  18. Ken says:

Gee, FE, I would have to know your real name and be able to check
every printed column in newspapers, magazines, letters-to-the-editor, etc, to ascertain whether you had ever complained of
US policy re Saddam pre 1993.

Very convienient for you, its impossibility. Unless you’d like to
    send some documentation Strata’s way.
