Hunter@KOS Thinks He Found Something
The effort the left is applying to grasp anything on the Bush White House over the Plame/Wilson rogue efforts is humorous. They so badly want Bush or Rove they they miss the obvious. Here is Hunter (the desperate) still grasping for a conspiracy about Plame’s well known employment at the CIA (so well known it was not considered a problem for just about EVERYONE to mention it).
this July 6th 2005 Walter Pincus piece that I’d seen previously, but I admit I didn’t really “get” the potential importance of the nut grafs the first time I read it:
On July 12, 2003, an administration official, who was talking to me confidentially about a matter involving alleged Iraqi nuclear activities, veered off the precise matter we were discussing and told me that the White House had not paid attention to former Ambassador Joseph Wilson’s CIA-sponsored February 2002 trip to Niger because it was set up as a boondoggle by his wife, an analyst with the agency working on weapons of mass destruction.
…
Novak simply said that Plame allegedly “suggested” Wilson for the Niger investigation. That’s it. But it doesn’t say the White House knew that at the time; doesn’t say they found out later; doesn’t say they found out in the week prior to Novak’s column. Nothing. But Pincus’ source has a timeline. What Pincus’ source is saying is not merely relaying Plame’s status according to Novak’s column, but giving the additional information that “the White House had not paid attention to the 2002 trip” because of Plame’s known status at the time.
OK, so Hunter thinks it is news that the WH knew about a 2002 trip in July of 2003 (after the war in Iraq was basically over) in a recollection written in 2005??? This is too silly.
Having grown up with Kennedys, Shrivers, etc outside CIA Langley in McLean, VA (long before it was the place to live) you hear these things all the time. Plame was an ambassador’s wife, who supposedly had just given birth to twins in 1999-2000. She was not very active during these times – we know, we had twins the same time and only one person can reasonably hold a paying job. So she and Joe were well known in McLean social circles, and Andrea Mitchell at MSNBC has already admitted her employment at the CIA was well known in these circles prior to Novak’s article.
What Hunter also misses (and the left is afraid to face up to) is that Wilson had to get permission from the State Dept to go and the WH would be getting reports on the mission, since it was critical to the pending debate in the UN. So people in the WH knew Wilson was going and had some feedback on his results – until of course he wrote that staged Op-Ed and then everyone knew about Wilson’s trip. And the fact his wife was CIA probably followed through the media elite circles like wild fire.
The only news in the entire Novak story was the one who sent him in the first place. And that unaltered, undenied fact is still the heart of this scandal. Why would a WMD expert send her non-expert husband on a trip only to report back in formal reports and a national Op-Ed information she should know was inaccurate (at best)?
There is plenty of reason to think this is a case of a roque CIA agent who (a) doesn’t believe the policy of the administration is right and (b) is driven by ego to take national matters into their own hands.
Remember Jonathen Pollard? Same deal. He felt he knew better regarding our policies about sharing key information with Israel.
Anyway, for glimpse into the so called mind check out the link to yours truly! The only way they can address my points is to assume I am on drugs!!
It all becomes clear!
Read the threads…it really is stunningly obvious once you think about it hard enough…
Oh, and you have to freebase a bunch of crystal meth and drano crystals first.
Don’t forget the Drano crystals!
Sad to see someone capitulate through baseless name calling straight out of the gate without even a semblence of a thoughtful debate.
Michelle Malkin has more updates on the liberal frenzy
There is a great debate on this at Redstate here and here. Plus someone was kind enough to dig up this story from last year on Wilson’s follies.
