Pacific Liberal Snobs

Published by at 4:09 pm under 2006 Elections,All General Discussions

One needs to remember liberal snobs live on both coasts, north and south. Sound Politics (one of my first favorite blogs to read before I started my own) has a jaw dropper from the Seattle P-I: they think Kerry was right either way you interpret his comments.

Although there are plenty of well-educated people in our armed forces — Kerry was one of them — military service has long been an opportunity employer for those with less education and fewer skills than they need to work in the private sector. Indeed, the military sells itself as a place to garner skills and to help pay for higher education.

And wars, including this one, are often fought by those less privileged — albeit no less smart — than the sons and daughters of those who lead us into them.

Apologies? Sure, from the cut-and-run Democratic candidates who’ve cancelled appearances with Kerry.

I cannot wait to see the response from Washington State’s finest. Where do these sanctimonious morons come from?

Update: Seems there are liberal snobs in Tennessee too. Why do these people open their arrogant mouths? Oh yeah, to wallow in their own genius – silly me.

My next to last posting in the Army was at Presidio, San Francisco.
1976-1979. We were FORBIDDEN to leave post in our uniforms unless on official business. Too many soldiers ended up in the back seat of SF patrol cars after being openly insulted by the public. Sure there were times when we did anyway…..at the risk of being verbally or physically assaulted….but we were well aware just what the SF public thought of us.

I was never so happy as when I rotated out. It was the most beautiful posting in the US Army smack in the middle of the most ugly people in the country. I gladly traded the streets of San Francisco for the jungles of Panama. I have never been back since. Never will either.

Elitist is too kind of a word for these assh****s.

    Limerick,
As a Californian, I apologize for the boorishness of my liberal neighbors with their oh- so- tolerant self image. California does have regions of conservatism and pro- Americanism, mainly the inland regions.
    Cheers.

Limerick here is some info that will give you heartburn like it did me

Pike also created a for-profit subsidiary
    called Highwater Inc., which manages
real estate leasing at a San Francisco office
complex named the Thoreau Center for
Sustainability located in the lush and historic
    Presidio. The Thoreau Center provides
    space for nonprofit groups “dedicated
to addressing the world’s most critical
    environmental, cultural, and social challenges.”
    The 63 tenants include, interestingly
    enough, the headquarters offices for
the Tides Foundation and Tides Center.
    Other tenants include Environmental Media
Services (discussed later in the article)
and the Wilderness Society. Here’s the
kicker: In 1994 the Clinton Administration
transferred control of the Presidio from the
Defense Department to the Interior Department,
    which converted the military
base into an historic urban park. Tides
founder Pike then signed a 55-year lease
with the National Park Service for the space
and spent $5 million to renovate the historic
    military barracks and other buildings
into modern office space. According to an
    April 1997 Government Accounting Office
report, the Tides Foundation and Tides
Center occupy the office space rent-free
for ten years while Highwater collects rent
from the other tenants. Pike promises that
all rent proceeds will be donated to Tides.

Mack……I think CA is beautiful….my daughter, (further right then even me), lives in So. Cal…….but you got to admit(which I know you know)…that the Pink Coast needs a serious amount of whoop-ass put on it.

Merlin….I heard that about the Presidio…also I think Gorbachav has his HQ there now as well. Sad to think of that beautiful historic post being overrun by commies and greenpeacers…AT MY EXPENSE!

    Cheers

But I believe Strata somewhat snobbish as well. After all, he has NEVER during the duration of the war, pointed out the unprecedented ABSCENCE of the upper class demographic,
    compared to previous wars.

This must mean he approves of the aristocratic chickenhawk nature of the war.

  6. For Enforcement says:

Ken, I notice you like the term “chickenhawk”, give a a brief synopsis of you military experience, that gives you the right to use the term.

Please limit it to two typed single spaced pages please.

  7. For Enforcement says:

I’ve spent a reasonable amout of time in CA. I have no problem with most of the people. The SF area was full of gays, as I knew before I went there, and they are of course not a part of the US as far as political affilitation. But the remainder of Ca is ok.

  8. Barbara says:

Seattle rivals San Francisco in liberal moonbattery. One of their citizens got a job in the deep, deep south with my company a few years ago. This was my first taste personally of liberalism that let no facts get in their way. It was quite a culture shock for this guy also. The arguments we used to have…

  9. Ken says:

    For Enforcement

“(gays) are not part of the US as far as political affiliation.”

Is this your way of sublimating the fact that homosexuality
has been legitimized in America but not in the lands America
    seeks to bring “democracy” to?

    and For Enforcement

My point was that members of the economic elite are not serving in Iraq, they are grossly underrepresented as a demographic compared to all previous wars. A general continuation of the arrogant Cheney’s
“had other priorities” when he was called on to serve in Vietnam.
