NY Times Forced Error
The NY Times has just made the case for the Rep Congress in an unforced error. Today the Times called for Saddam’s execution to be ‘deferred’. This signal is clear. Even a brutal mass murderer who established child torture centers and numerous rape rooms and filled countless mass graves should be spared. We can all ‘connect the dots’ to what the NY Times and their liberal enablers in Congress would do with Osama Bin Laden – they would challenge any death penalty ruling. No wonder the left wants to defend – using taxpayer funded lwayers – Saddam and Kahlid Sheik Mohamed and all terrorists. While we know what the times thinks in those strangely warped liberal minds over there – it was probably not a good idea to remind the nation one day before the elections.
Great post. Your headline doesn’t match your post.
Strata. Once again, much if not most of Hussein’s “murdering”
occured during that time of his rule when he was considered an
American ally. Where were you then?; we know where Rummy was, shaking the “monster’s ” hand in the famous photo.
As far as capital punishment, I haven’t even bothered to read the
NYT’s editorial before commenting. It’s clear the entire trial is
regarded, generally, as bogus and contrived by the bulk of the
Arab/Moslem world. Perhaps a life imprisonment penalty would
be wise in this regard.
Saddam is being tried by the Iraqi government for crimes he did against Iraqis. His foreign policy is nothing to do with that.
I think most Iraqis are happy with this trial and the verdict.
And the opinion of the Arab world doesn’t matter either. It is the verdict of the Iraqi court.
Saddam was also sponsoring all kinds of terrorists. He was a mass-murderer.
Was he sponsoring “all kinds of terrorists” when Rummy was shaking his hand when he was our “ally” against Iran?
