cnn has web ahead also
AP does too.
Virginia | MORE STATE RESULTS | EXIT POLLS | COUNTY RESULTS
Candidate Votes % of votes
Jim Webb (DEM) 1,141,052 49%
George Allen (REP)* 1,138,676 49%
99% of precincts reporting
This is from the MSNBC page. It is probably where they are getting their numbers too.
The MSNBC numbers are AP numbers reported earlier than most other people are reporting them.
True but the number of votes they are showing for Allen is less than what the Va site is showing
Looks like someone is wrong here..the VA site looks to be the exact opposite of the MSNBC site..what gives?
just guessing AP got the numbers backward and put it out and they all reported it inaccurately
SMH, those are backward I think.
SUNNYBROOK: We had no ballot initiatives or local races and my county is over 90% Repub. so I was surprised turnout was as high as it was. Thank you Kerry!
TownhallTechie: yea, there’s definitely some conflicting numbers about VA
liberrocky: Yeah VA is CA-rzy
DaveS: SO, what’s the status on absentee’s in VA? When do they get counted, and how many are in?
Christoph: VA has a large military contingent. I can’t believe the absentee voters are voting en masse to have their funding cut. I don’t buy it.
DaveS: Nah, absentees will go ENORMOUSLY republican.
TownhallTechie: asking someone who knows really quick about VA #’s
DaveS: But, how many are there, when are they counted, etc?
SUNNYBROOK: Am I right in saying that absentees don’t even get counted unless the race is close?
JD_in_IL: no they all get counted
Christoph: Sunnybrook, they get counted, but after the fact. Result gets certified first if their are not enough absentee ballots to change the outcome due to a large margin.
DaveS: How many absentees are there out in VA
TownhallTechie: 114k i think
SUNNYBROOK: ok…I found a very imformative linkee about absentee ballots in all states…it depends on the state
SUNNYBROOK: http://www.ncsl.org/programs/legman/elect/absentearly.htm
DaveS: Oh, that’ll give Allen a 30k+ bump
prescott: thanks
DaveS: I would imagine
Christoph: That’s probably true, Sunnbrook. What does it say about VA?
TownhallTechie: with the military presence in va, you’d think
SUNNYBROOK: Unfortunately…VA counts absentees after the polls close
TownhallTechie: yea, we won’t know who takes VA tonight
SUNNYBROOK: Which may mean that we are seeing those results in the totals coming out
DaveS: Yeah we will. It’s allen. The absentees will put him over easiler
DaveS: easily
Christoph: Not if what Sunnybrooks is saying is true, DaveS.
From Hot Air chat room.
Is Sunnybrook right, AJStrata? Are the absentee ballots already reflected in the numbers?
As of right now:
Allen – 1,141,753
Webb – 1,139,885
Thanks Mark and Enforcement. The numbers at MSNBC continue to be different than those at official site. I will be glad to see this race at 100% on the VA site.
Does anyone know if the absentee ballots have been counted?
Jim Webb 1,143,144 (50%)
George Allen 1,140,879 (49%)

From FOXNews
Townhall’s technical advisor says his RNC content says VA absentee ballots have been counted. Bummer.
Now the official site has Webb ahead. Oh my, this is a shock to the system I would say.
Webb is now ahead by 1800 votes…but there are a few precincts left to go…
Allen says the nets transposed the numbers..that he is ahead by 5K and that though the nets say 100% of the votes have been counted only 98.6% of them have been counted.
Talent is now behind McCaskill. I sue hope Allen is right.
sure. sorry.
Clarice: Did he just make that statement somewhere?
