Dumb Republican Tricks
This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Want to know the number one reason for immigration? Economic conditions between South America and here. If South America’s economies where more like Europe’s we would be seeing migration out of the US.
I don’t know, man, that’s dumb, I grant you, but >a href=”http://hotair.com/archives/2006/11/13/breaking-mel-martinez-to-replace-ken-mehlman-as-rnc-chairman/”>this has gotta be in the running for stupidest Republican trick.
In my country, Canada, we had a “Progressive Conservative” Party (that really was the name) that betrayed its base, got decimated, we sat in the electoral wilderness for over a decade, and now under the renewed leadership of Stephen Harper the “Conservative Party” is governing.
Maybe there is a better way…
Just saying.

Why don’t those putative emigres just leave the US and go to the real thing in Europe? Why wait for South America to reach those heights of stagnation it’s taken the EU years to achieve.
Gee, Strata, I agree with the legislator and, sensitive one, please note, Mexico is not in South America and in fact I saw no reference to South America in the link.
Doesn’t matter. After all, how will they emigrate from South America to USA?
Through Mexico, of course!!
AJ..
Maybe the authors of this can appear on Letterman, in the segment, “Stupid Human Tricks”.
Amazing that people can actually think like that, let alone put it on paper.
A J Strata,
I am not familiar with the Belleville News-Democrat. Would you describe it as a conservative paper that habitually fairly reports the actions and comments of Republican officials? Alternatively, could there be a little anti-Republican spin in the above referenced article?
From a quick scan of the immigration section of your blog, it appears to me that you believe that the people who are breaking our existing immigration laws are “victims of poverty†and should be allowed to colonize a neighboring country if it is more prosperous. I urge you to reevaluate your position on illegal immigration by looking for information supporting the other side of the issue. You should be able to discover that Mexico is in North America and that Central America is between Mexico and South America. You may also be surprised to discover that Mexico has effective control of its southern border and strict penalties (that they actually enforce) on anyone illegally crossing their southern border. However, there are exceptions to the strict Mexican enforcement rule for people willing to pay bribes.
Ronald Reagan was able to connect with the working people of the United States. Even a carpenter can understand that the price that he can expect for his labor will be limited if he is forced to compete with illegal immigrant carpenters. If the carpenter has created his own construction company through years of hard work, he is faced with an ethical dilemma when sophisticated corporations arrive in his town and begin building homes using elastic Hamiltonian interpretations of immigration laws, while using crews of people that all have the same social security number. Does he continue to hire the people from his hometown who have worked for him for years or does he copy the methods of the sophisticated Hamiltonian corporations? What would George Bush do if he owned a construction company under the same circumstances? “What the heck, the documents looked real and the Government took six months to tell us that the social security numbers didn’t match the names of the people that we hired.†Is there any difference between the Republican and Democrat parties other than their financial backers?
I believe that Ronald Reagan was able to attract “Reagan Democrats†because he was more Jeffersonian than Hamiltonian. The Reagan Immigration Compromise contained sufficient sanctions for crooked corporations and did not criminalize the illegal immigrant but did require that the illegal immigrant was to be deported. All that was needed after that Reagan Comprehensive Reform was honest enforcement of the law as written.
The illegal immigration problem doesn’t consist only of poor Mexicans. Because every President after Reagan has refused to adequately enforce the Reagan immigration law, a vast number of people have flown into America on Tourist Visas and simply stayed illegally after their Visas have expired. Many illegal immigrants are here from Europe.
I believe that most billionaires who are technically Americans consider themselves to be “citizens of the worldâ€. Are there any “American†multinational corporations? They may be technically American because they are headquartered in America. However, check out their websites and you will see that they are concerned about being “good citizens of the worldâ€.
America’s billionaires want an America that contains a population that is Balkanized without a common sense of history because they own the television networks that propagandize in both Spanish and English. As long as they have a large enough population of “victims†that their demagogue politicians can rely on to be their voter base, they can rule America for the benefit of their multinational corporations.
Because the billionaires who control the news media and entertainment industry approve of the Democrat Party propaganda that is passed off as news and entertainment, my guess is that the Democrat Party must now be more Hamiltonian than the Republican Party. Therefore, I hold my nose and vote Republican as the lesser of two Hamiltonian evils.
