Typical Pouty James Webb – no wonder Reagen fired the buffoon. The guy lacks an ounce of class or maturity.

I am so embarrassed. I did NOT vote for this man. If this is how he is going to act, he will hear from me every time. How adolescent.

  2. HaroldHutchison says:

Same here. Plus, if he spouts nonsense about how Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism…

  3. For Enforcement says:

Some of us recognized his ‘superiority’ complex before he was elected. He sure doesn’t have much respect for women. He has that in common with Muslims.

I have noticed that Americans in general seem not to take well to behavior such as this by Webb. People admire grace and some measure of class in how people interact with political opponents. Bush showed some degree of decorum by seeking out someone bitterly opposed to him and making a point to greet him. That Webb responded as he did will probably reflect poorly on his popularity in his region.

Webb now represents people across the entire spectrum of political thought. He didn’t win by a very large margin. He represents all Virginians as a Senator from their state and he should act like it. I still shake my head, though, at the people of Virginia who would elect such a jackass in the first place, though. They have six more years of antics like this to endure before they can correct it. This is a perfect example of why I think we should return the election of Senators to the state legislatures. Making the Senate directly elected was a huge mistake and ruined one of the checks and balances the founders set up for this country. The people elect the House, and the state legislatures elect the Senate. I believe we should return to that mechanism.

Quite the opposite. You’re the whiner, the Wilsonian Liberal; Webb’s the macho Conservative, refusing to make nice with a lying warmonger. Insteady of envying him, you ought to be singing the praises of his gun rights advocacy and his prescience that Iraq was
    an unwinnable fiasco.

His association with Cong. Moran, who correctly said the organized
Zionist Lobby pushed America into Iraq is also laudable.

Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism. Saddam gave a little
recompense to the Palestinian families whose homes were
bulldozed by the Israeli government in guilt-by-association
punishment—but Iran gives and gave them more, and they’re the winners of Bush’s debacle.

Intersting that you won’t see these same media outlets reporting this

BAGHDAD, Iraq – In one week’s time, Coalition Forces captured 11 suspected senior-level terrorists of Ansar al Sunna during a series of raids in north-central Iraq during mid-November.

During the raids, Coalition Forces captured the terrorist emirs of Iraq, Ramadi, Baqubah, Tikrit, al Qa’im, Bayji and Baghdad. They also captured two terrorist facilitators, a courier, an explosives expert and a financier.

Think about this for a second … this is HUGE. We have capture the Emir of Iraq, Emirs of Ramadi, Baquba, Tikrit, al Qaim, Bayji, and Baghdad … in 11 days! This is an amazing piece of work. We have rolled up most of the leadership of probably THE most important terrorist organization in Iraq.

Not a peep out of the mainstream media about it. No, only bad news, setbacks, deaths. Never report any good news.

This kind of overkill is said to be commonplace of innocents and if true it is one reason why insurgents are easily replaced by angry
    relatives and angry foreigners.

Webb made an ass of himself. That kind of pouty spoiled childish behaviour has no place in any workplace let alone the highest levels of government. Webb has enough strange tidbits in his background to give me pause and wonder if this guy is playing with a full deck, then to come right out of the box like this!? I would have been ashamed and embarrassed if I had voted for someone and they had acted like this. I’m betting there’s a lot of buyers remorse going on right now in Virginia. George Allen is a lot classier smarter guy.

P.S. Hi Ken, how are things in Berkeley?

  10. Bikerken says:

AJ, I just had a thought, How do you think James Webb’s son feels about the words his father had with the president. I spent 20 years in the military and if my parents had ever whined to the president of the United States about wishing I was coming home, I be embarrassed as hell and hoping my shipmates didn’t find out about. How humiliating!

  11. For Enforcement says:

It is my observation that reports by civilians and news media of deaths of civilians, especially when it involves women and children, by US military have always, without exception, been proven to be wrong. The only deaths that you can be sure are reported correctly are reports that the US Military makes. If they say it, you can usually believe it. The others, always wrong.
If all the women and children that are reported by the enemy to be killed were really killed, Iraq would have run out of women and children a long time ago. There would have been mass graves all over Iraq. Other than the ones created by Saddam, I haven’t heard of any.
    Some people will believe anything.
    George Bush has Class
    James Webb is an Ass

  12. For Enforcement says:

Bikerken, I think James Webb’s son would be terribly embarrassed as you said. The military people I knew and know would want an American Senator to be a person of integrity and class.
    Virginia missed out.
When they called for someone with class, Webb thought they said they wanted an ass, so he volunteered.
Virginia, nor any state, deserves a James Webb.
I bet old Thomas Jefferson would be disappointed.

This TRUST in US government, belied by the cover-ups already
exposed, (military and civilian,) in relation to the war, is the
emotional equivalence of your “intellectual” BELIEF that
the Klan was founded in the North.

  14. Ken says:

Webb is being hailed across many political demographics as a
hero for his disdain of the lying warmonger Bush. By the way,
the last surviving judge at Nuremberg said Bush should be tried
    for war crimes.

Your assumption that US troops generally still believe in their
    mission is very naeive.

  15. Terrye says:

I wonder if this idiot is under the impression that Marines get to pick where they go? In fact the first battle foght by the Marines on foreign soil was at the behest of Presdient Jefferson and the place was Tripoli. I bet ken would have been yammering away at Thomas Jefferson for being a baby killing imperialist too.

BTW, speaking of civilian deaths have you all read the accounts of Flopping Aces about the fictitious Iraqi Police Captain who was been playing Baghdad Bob to a gullible AP by making stuff up. Maybe Ken is moonlighting.

  16. Terrye says:

    Ken:

Like it or not Bush is the president of the United States and Webb’s behavior was nothing more than an adolescent fit, much like my teenage niece has when her Dad refuses to give her gas money.

And btw I have seen Bush deal with a lot of people, including Bill Clinton and he is always gracious, he is always a gentleman. Webb is just a jerk. Anyone can be a jerk, it requires no special. After all, look at you.

  17. Terrye says:

    Ken:

From what I have heard and read the majority of American troops still support the mission and the president. I know it is amazing to you to think that they do not appreciate being called murderers, or stupid, or illiterate or failures, but in fact the average soldier believes in his country and his mission. Just because you hate America and love Saddam and think that soldiers are morons does not make it true.

  18. Ken says:

    http://www.zogby.com/NEWS/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1075

Beg to differ, Terrye-and the belief in the mission has deteriorated
    as conditions have.

Bet you also believe the half dozen or so polls of Iraqis taken from
2004 to the present which show majority support of both
Shia and Sunni for insurgent attacks on US troops are contrived
too. Only the Kurds oppose them.

  19. Terrye says:

Oh for heaven’s sake Ken, not that sad silly totally discredited and meaningless push poll by Zogby that has become a major embarassment for them? No one believes that. Besides, there are also polls out there that show 2/3 of these guys voted for Bush. Why do you think the press hates them so much?

Forget the poll, look at the reelistments. Record numbers signing up to do another tour.

And you know what? Being a jerk is not a sign of standing up to anyone, it is just being a jerk. I have seen Bush be a gentleman with people he had disagreements with, that is what adults do.

  20. the good doctor says:

I still can beleive this porno moron got elected, specially in Va.
